That you have not seen it, does not mean it doesnât exist. It does, and Iâve seen it when flying over London as well (I have a 65Mbps connection).

First of all, resolution has zero impact on data retrieved. The terrain detail slider is the only thing that counts, it sets the draw distance.
Without photogrammetry you will rarely go over 10 mbps, flying fast and low at 200 terrain, 1 to 5 mbps on average.
With photogrammetry you can need over 250 mbps depending on altitude, speed and LOD settings.
PG areas vary in density, London being the most dense of all.
I compared NY to London at 180 knots speed, 500ft, terrain detail 200
London (first value is PG data off, second PG data on)
Terrain 200 0.32 GiB 6.2 mbps / 4.38 GiB 85 mbps
Terrain 150 0.29 GiB 5.7 mbps / 3.49 GiB 68 mbps
Terrain 100 0.19 GiB 3.7 mbps / 2.73 GiB 53 mbps
Terrain 50 0.13 GiB 2.5 mbps / 1.58 GiB 31 mbps

Terrain 200 1.63 GiB 45 mbps
Terrain 150 1.42 GiB 39 mbps
Terrain 100 1.12 GiB 31 mbps
Altitude also makes a huge difference. My test flight over London at 2,000 ft needed less than 30% of the data compared to flying at 500ft (everything else equal) PG data comes in 3 levels, at 2,000 ft you only get the medium detail level, at 500ft it downloads the highest detail data.
Scaling seems to be 1.6x for doubling the LOD (100 to 200 terrain, 1.6x the data consumed) while going faster or slower simply raises/lowers the bandwidth needed accordingly.
Of course if you use rolling cache it will eventually all be in the cache and you wonât have to rely on download speed any more. However note that the entire London area is about 44 GB in PG data.

This is why Iâm wary of my sim using like 3mbps or 15 tops of my 100+ even in London and nyc

didnt say so anywhere that heâd be lying but good to know that it do exist even my 40mbps has not brought that message for me, even in london after the last update
It doesnât require fast internet at all. 50mbps will be plenty. It most likely will use only 15-20mbps tops.

For me even with 150mbit/s I have partly blurry parts on full hd⊠so donât get your hopes up.
