Hahaha true, range is an issue.
I do over flights, without landing, simulating refueling before exceeding the plane endurance range.
Being one myself , I know exactly why you did it. Because YOU ARE AN IRONMAN !!!
Respect

No idea in the sim, probably EDDF or EHAM to WSSS in the PMDG 748, maybe the flight to SAEZ is longer? No idea.
Real life a little more than 10hours to fly a 700km triangle in a sailplane.
Pax should be EDDF - MDPC, 9h something I think
30 hours Athens to Sydney 1979, Qantas 747-200, stoppimg at Bahrain (refuel), Singapore (refuel), Perth and Melbourne on the way.
Sim: negligible due to unreliability of MSFS. ![]()
As a passenger Chicago to Tokyo in a 777 business class.
A few in the 3-4 range. Multiple destinations.
I’d like to cross the pond in the PMDG DC-6. But I’ve got some serious planning and learning to do before that.
14 hours and 7,490 miles more or less - Etihad, Sydney to Abu Dhabi.
15 Hours Heathrow to Beijing BA 2012 (we were in a holding pattern Not sure what plane 777. All my other long haules with Emirates, but stop off in Dubai, Loved the A380.
In the Sim 12 hours Bordeux to KSEA A330
My longest IRL non-stop flight was probably Atlanta USA to Frankfort Germany.
That total flight was from PHX to USSS (formally known as SVX). USSS is a 12-hour time zone difference from LAX, so almost half way around the world but in the northern hemisphere.
I flew the Cessna Longitude around the world by way of:
PHX, KBOS, BIKF, EFHK, USSS, UHHH, PANC, PHX
The one interesting leg was UHHH to PANC since I saw both the sun raise and set in the same flight.
I read an interesting news article from May 2021 that someone may have found Amelia Earhart’s plane on the island of Nikumaroro Lagoon, 400+ miles south of Howland Island.
So, yesterday I researched Amelia Earhart route and began the journey. The planes of choice were between the Beechcraft G58, being a twins and similar speed (I believe the Lockheed Electra cruised at 177kts). The King Air has longer range and higher speed but why not fly it faster and in style? I chose the TBM 930.
I am altering her route, slightly, by bypassing or combining short legs. For example, She started at OAK and the first stop was BUR, less than 300 miles. She also flew from GOSS to GOOY which was 98 miles, after crossing the Atlantic. As for her last three legs, I am making the route from Nadzab (AYNZ) to Pohnpei (KAWS) since Howland Island has no airport and it is beyond the range of the TBM. I decided to head to Wake and Midway Islands then to Honolulu since the route is doable in the TBM without faking the fuel.
The only leg beyond the range of the TBM is Honolulu to Oakland (6:20 long) where I will need to take on 407+ lbs of fuel in the cabin. I will add a passenger, or two, equal to 450 lbs then transfer that weight to the fuel tanks, when needed, to complete the trip.
This is going to take me a while, a few weeks, since I have work and family stuff and only fly on weekends and some evenings. I hope to complete this journey during daylight hours over each route, too. Another aspect of MSFS is I can fly any leg at any time, so I do not have to fly them in sequence.
Stats for my trip: A total of 31 legs, three legs are 4+ hours. Nine legs are 3+ hours. Total 24,452 nautical miles and an estimated 74 hours in the TBM 930.
Good Luck in your adventure.
Furthest I’ve flown has been to Tokyo / Rio De Janeiro / San Diego (can’t remember which was the longest) but the longest in MSFS was an 8ish hour JFK - Helsinki for Cross The Pond on VATSIM (which was also incredible!)
SQ has just brought back the 380. Already booked on a return flight/SQ 317 LHR to SIN on January 5th.
me too from incheon to jfk in simulator
Holy ■■■■.
NONSTOP ultra long haul flight from Hamburg to Sylt! The flight took almost 40 minutes but I missed the ILS glideslope so I had to return to a point half-way back, fly a holding, and re-program the FMGC.
This made the flight almost one hour long.
The longest so far!
Phew I had to pour a bucket of ice water over my head and clap like a young tame seal getting a fish from a zoo employee after the landing - finally having simulated solid ground again under the wheels after this endless time being airborne ![]()
Hm just kidding, but I always fly routes between 40 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes… There is no challenge in programming endless long routes and being in need of sim rate x16 to traverse an ocean, and watching Netflix in the meantime while the computer flies…
For me (irl) the last time I flew somewhere was go to Detroit and from Detroit go to Orlando and that was on a Northwest 757, haven’t flown on anything ever sense because we just drive a lot
so the last time I flew dash8 400’s and 300’s where still common
Probably (in the game) the longest flight was I just realized Detroit to Orlando in the default 787 very similar to the northwest flight but with the delta current livery
In RL I think it was 17 hours from Heathrow (London) to Kai Tak (Hong Kong), back in '97 before they closed the airport.
In the SIM, 2.5 hours is my limit before losing the will to live! ![]()
- Real life as a passenger - Sydney- Abu Dhabi - about 15 hours more or less.
- Real life back when I had a medical - would need to try and find my old log book but definitely less than 2 hours, I flew for fun not travel or a job.
- In MSFS , my longest flights are 3 or 4 hours and they are generally multiplayer group flights, usually joining in on streamed flights on twitch / YouTube.
Wow! 17 Hours? How many unscheduled stops? ![]()
No stops at all
