I’d love to see the Aeromarine Merlin PSA, a one-seater kit plane that fits within the LSA definition and can be flown in the US on a sport pilot license. As a one-seater, it gets away with a much lower initial cost and lower fuel usage on a 60 HP engine than a 2-seater: claims just 2.5 gph at cruise versus 4.5 gph for a typical 2-seater with a 100 HP Rotax 912.
They also have a (barely) part-103 compliant ultralight “Merlin Lite”, with a 35 HP engine and a longer wing to lower the stall speed.
