What ONE aircraft would you fly for the rest of your life?

I saw this online just now:

. . . and it got me thinking. . .

If you could pick one and only one aircraft to fly, and that was it - no others - what would you pick if you could only have one plane for the rest of your life?

One in the sim right now or coming, or IRL?

I’d probably pick something really common, like the C208.

I was going to say the flying flea, as it’s my favourite plane to fly, but now i remember in real life they’re not the safest of aeroplane design (understatement), so as long as it’s only in the sim, that one

I would need a tail dragger endorsement but the Kitfox!!!

Your choice.

Since many simmers don’t have a pilot license, the scope of this question must be broad.

Preferably it should be something you have actual experience with, (sim or IRL), because if you’re going to be married to it for the rest of your life, you should “choose wisely”.

De Havilland Trident 121 2E

Now if only there was one for MSFS.

If I could afford it, a Twin Otter. With its twin turbine engines and anti-ice capabilities, it’s the ultimate go anywhere in just about any conditions machine. Failing that, something like a Super Cub or Kitfox.

PA32-301 if I have to be able to afford it.
DA62 if I can pick anything semi reasonable
L-1649A if I have a dream fairy granting wishes

In real life, without any doubt: a classic piston PA-18 Super Cub

I wouldn’t have a plane, I’d get a heli. No idea which one, need more helis for the sim to help me decide.

Probably a TBM or a PC-12.

Ken Borek Air has done a couple of medical evacuation missions to the Amundsen Scott base at the south pole during the austral winter, starting out from and returning to Calgary, Canada. If a Twin Otter is good enough for that, then it’s good enough for me.

Spitfire in SIM and irl, I don’t think I will ever tire of the sound of that engine.
Closely followed by (a more modern) TBM I guess.

The Only Way is Essex Beaver

In sim it would ideally be the Thranda Beaver with REP in X-Plane, though if it has to be MSFS then I’ll grab the Milviz one. IRL it would be as traditional as possible - ie steam panel with a radio stack and 430 or 530 but nothing more.

I love the Citations but I have a thing for the AutoGyro MT-03. I could literally land at my house and the building at work! Get some attachments and take it to the beach or lake. Show up to your friend’s wedding in style.

IF I could ONLY pick one aircraft to ever fly…? Easy!!!
