What performance to expect with 10700k + Rtx 2070S

I am thinking about updating my rig with a new CPU because I am severely CPU limited with my 4790k. My idea is, after considering other applications too, to build it around a 10700k with a RTX2070S, 32 GB RAM and a SSD.

I will play in a 1920x1200 monitor, with a mix of high-ultra settings.

For anbody with a similar rig, what kind of FPS can I expect when landing in complex airports? I mention this because today it’s the situation where my computer struggles the most. No problem when in cruise, but landing in a big airport and my FPS tank, which makes the landing really not enjoyable.

I’m on an i5 10600k and 2070 Super
A mix of ultra and high on 4K and render to 70 I get 20 highs and 40s airborne.
If you plan using less than 4K you should sim to high clock cpu and ram.
Nonetheless I went with an i5 because fs2020 is actually not using multicore… so it was pointless to get i7 or i9… but money is yours and if you can I’d go with higher clock settings possible

Put EVERYTHING on LOW of OFF, but for

RENDER SCALING - 80, 90 or 100
ANTI-ALIASING - TAA
Texture Resolution - ULTRA

That’s you base line for a SHARP cockpit, and scenery does not look bad in VR either.

Then you selectively up the eye candy (in VR the TEXTURE SUPERSAMPLING) till you start seeing micro stutters, is where you don’t want to be. It’s about the micro stutters.

Join us here for the best settings for the 2070s on 1K, 2K and 4K:

I have a Alienware 51m that has a I9-9900 , RTX2070, 32Gig RAM, 3240x1200 Ultra wide monitor, running Ultra to high end setting get 30 to 34 FPS…
No overclocking…

Not to forget the only resolution demanding below 4k is 3440x1440 even for a 2070super.I have to lower some of graphics settings on my 2060super.
Have a 10700k on the way to pair with my rtx2060super.ATM its below 300usd so basically only 50$ less than the i7.
Overall I think an 8 core cpu is going to give a less choppy experience.
