Hey!
I’m personally playing this game for the immersion and just to chill out in VR by just flying around, playing around with the weather and what not. So one of the most important things for me is the cockpit.
I’m curious to hear what (freeware or payware) Planes you think are the most comfortable to be in?
One example for me is the cockpit of the base games Cessna Citation CJ4 as it is not too big, feels homey, still has a lot of buttons to play with and what’s also a huge plus for me are the multiple interior lighting options.
What’s your pick(s) and why?
Another cockpits I consider absolute comfortable cozy and soft, are typical luxury twin-prop cockpits, like the Flysimware Cessna 414 Chancellor and the Carenado Senecy V.
Another real fine cockpit is the Aerosoft CRJ, video how it feels like here:
Well, I’m hard pressed to understand how to answer this from the viewpoint of the simulator,
but, having sat in many planes, I would say for a GA single, the Piaggio P.149 is awfully comfortable with lots of space and a great view all around. The Corsair cockpit is very comfortable to sit in and access controls, though not the best for looking behind you.
People have said that the viewpoint from the P.149 is too high. I’ve sat in one, nope, the viewpoint they created is perfect. I made sure to check it out.
f-16 you can see everything all around(it’s like set on the horse or bike) so your comfort arrive to your eyes and still there and don’t moves out so long as you open canopy and get out of her. i didn’t flew real things. but this is what i think about that i know lol
The most comfy looking cockpit in my hangar is definitely the C414.
Although I know the Mooneys are actually a bit cramped IRL, I like the cockpit layout of the M20R very much. It’s very efficient and has a pretty sophisticated touch to it. So I feel very comfy in the sim.
Then there’s the C172 Classic. I’ve known this layout for decades. It’s a bit like coming home and the Skyhawk actually is quite comfortable to sit in and to operate.
I also like the interior of the Twin Beech D18S very much. IIRC it was marketed as a business plane before the war, so I guess it might be comfy in real life too.
The Piper Comanche is supposed to be extremely comfortable for a 4-seater and the cockpit panel of the upcoming A2A PA-24 Comanche 250 is practically a work of art - simply a beautiful place to be.
