Yes, you can, or at least I could. I have the simple Logitech/Seitek throttle quadrant which has a 0 detent that you can move past, which apparently acts like you’re holding down a button. I mapped this to “Decrease Throttle” and it works to enter the beta range in the PC12.
The PC12 is great for VR sightseeing, but it’s very fast and wants to be high. It’s also kinda hard on computer resources. Kinda a different type of flying to the 337. Though I suppose you can buzz the countryside at low power. I did pick up the 337 after reading the suggestion here and it’s pretty good. It does have a very basic VS function which I suppose is slightly better than simply trimming.
I spend close to half my time in the AS 33 ME in MSFS VR, as it’s both relaxing and challenging at the same time. There’s a nice preset on the HAT view switch that brings your position up and behind the cockpit so you have a wonderful view. I cheat a bit and just set unlimited battery power for the auxiliary motor, although with the incredible glide ratio it has, you can go for miles with no lift or need to use the motor.
Another plane I must get back into though in VR is the Junkers 52, as the view inside the large glasshouse flight deck is second to none. In VR the 3D effect is outstanding. The modern option has auto pilot and whatnot, but I always fly the original in VFR, making say an hour long flight in Europe often extremely challenging, depending on what the weather is doing. Massive fun.
