What time update will be released?

As you know, the update will be released today. Does anyone know when exactly will it be released?

I thought it was sometime this week …not specifically today?

It’ll be this week, I’m predicting tomorrow or Thursday. That’s historically been the usual 2 days they release updates.

I just hope there’s something for the VRAM bug that’s plaguing many simmers at present.

I know, they said the same thing for the previous update, but they released it at the day we were told.

As you know it was mentioned to be released in the week of Dec. 9th, not on Dec. 9th.
It will be released this Tuesday or Thursday, this was stated in the last developer stream.

I don’t have any hope about it actually but I hope I’m proven wrong

Aren’t they normally around 16:30 GMT?

That strongly will depend on what you are hoping for ;-).
If your hope is an update that will fix everything you personally consider problematic in MSFS2024 then I can tell you: there’s probably NO hope whatsoever.

However I hold high hopes they will fix SOME things that are important to ME and some that are totally irrelevant to me.

According to this: December 5th, 2024 Development Update - Microsoft Flight Simulator

and also shared some details about Patch 3 which is targeted to release next week on either December 10 or December 12.

up until now the previous patches were mostly about ctd and crashes,
now that the base sim seems to be performing more or less stable, i hope they start tackling the usability bugs, eg the myriad of bugs in the aircraft themselves, and the vram bug for those of us that are suffering it

I do find it mildly hilarious that Asobo finally went to the effort to scrub any info about branches off of the SteamDB page – people must have been angry when it became apparent that they were sitting on Patch 2 for over a week. Seems there’s probably a very small, closed beta program that isn’t publicized…

Interesting, on what data is your assessment based on?

Based on the steamDB data I would guess more people have moved on from FS2024 toward FS2020.
I do not believe that MS is happy about the old Sim outperforming the new one.

But that’s just Steam though. FS2024 is included with gamepass.

That is true. I do not believe that people bought this on steam and now move over to gamepass.
Since we do not have official numbers from MS this is the best we get.

BTW FS2020 is also included with gamepass

what assesment?

Erm. Aren’t we derailing this topic here? I think that the OP’s question has been answered. Not?

It is ok. I agree with @GhostlyFrend and just delet what I wrote.

Stable and MSFS24 don’t go together in the same sentence as far as I’m concerned.

I’m lucky to get 1 flight in 10 that doesn’t CTD and I’m sure there are many others who aren’t even getting as lucky as me…

i just meant that gone are the days when one couldn’t even get into the darn thing
at least in my case, at the moment i can load and fly without any sort of catastrophic failure
the problem is what comes after that, inside, pretty much everything is bugged

agreed

I’ve had more CTDs during loading than I have in flight (which is actually zero). I’ve had one CTD in the main menu while switching aircraft for free flight. That crash occurred yesterday.

But as for crashes in flight, the sim has been very stable for me. Most of my flights have been an hour or less, but last week I made a 4+ hour flight in the Albatross at 9.000’ from PAKT to KSEA that went perfectly. Total sim run time for that one was about 4.5 - 5 hours.
