What to look for in a monitor ( curved )?

My choices are :

Flat 28" 4k 16:9 IPS 60Hz

Curved 32" 4k 16:9 1800R VA FreeSync 60Hz

Curved 34" 2k 21:9 1500R VA FreeSync 144Hz

Hard to advise as to which monitor to get. Some would go for the high res 4k monitors, whilst others may say go for a higher refresh rate. At the very least, I would skip the flat 28" monitor!

So I can only say I have a 34" Acer Predator curved IPS monitor with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and I bloody love it! It is only 1440 but that’s fine for me. So its great for any game and very nice with Microsoft Flight Sim.

I was thinking , maybe bypass the immersive monitor and go for VR ; HP Reverb G2 !

I bought a Samsung 32" curved monitor at Sam’s Club a number of years ago and absolutely love it. It was a floor model and I remember paying $150 for a $400 monitor.

34 2k @144hz or you have a strong GPU get a 38inch 3840x1600 38inch.Either way they are both immersive over 4k 16:9 .I have a 3440x1440 100hz monitor and that works perfectly in this sim.
My other suggestion research and compare.If you decide to go ultrawide you’ll never go back to 16:9.Only bummer not all content/videos supports 21:9 but when it does its amazing!

I’m currently planing out my system ; 5600x / 3080 .
So can go either way I think but probably 34" .
Any specific models to look at ?

Depends on your budget. If you can afford the high end ones good for it. Yes 34 1440 as the minimum for that combo.3840x1600 would be perfect for that setup as the 3080 would probably get bottlenecked by the cpu on 3440x1440.There is a variety of 34inch.You can maybe check DELL,SAMSUNG,LG,MSI.You may find a good IPS one with one of those companies.

Ultrawide is amazing. Its not as amazing as VR but its an upgrade from 16:9 monitor.At least you will have a GPU that will be able take advantage of the refresh rate if you play other games. My current gpu cannot take advantage of the 100hz refresh rate.
