Hi guys…in order to get my flight sim more realisitic, i m planning to buy a tv to replace my acer monitir 27". after googling a bit, i read that we can not buy any tv, it needs special specifications…so, because i have no clue really, i m asking all the experts here for some advice…
I m planning to buy a 43" tv …

  1. is a full HD enough, or do i need a 4K ?
  2. Refresh rate : 60 HZ, is enough ?
  3. do i need the same resolution ? my monitor is 19201080. do i need the same or can i go higher like 32802060 ?
  4. a hdmi cable is good ?
  5. i heard about a time of response ?
  6. a specific brand ??? i read that the LG tvs are best for gaming …

Arguably the best smaller size TV for gaming right now is the LG OLED CX 48".

It’s 4K HDR 120Hz capable with very good response times and being OLED, you’re going to get excellent black levels. Of course you can run it at lower resolutions as well, but 4K will look sweet if you have the hardware to drive it.

The main downside is price… It’s generally sold at a similar price (sometimes more expensive) compared to it’s larger 55" brother. Also, because it’s a bit more of a niche product, it tend’s to be a little harder to find.

I have a 55 inch OLED and it’s so sweet. 4K is a real treat if you have a powerful setup.

I’ve got a 58" QLED 4k Samsung TV and just for kicks I’ve tried MSFS on it. It looks great, but even with their ‘adaptive 120hz gaming mode’ feature it doesn’t nearly feel as smooth as my monitor, which I think is to be expected IMO. If you really want to game on a TV, I personally think you’re better off spending the extra on a TV that offers a 120hz refresh rate even if it’s not 4k capable – which you really don’t need anyway, though yes it is a nice luxury. LG and Samsung have definitely improved their quality for gaming-capable UHDR televisions in recent years and those would be the two brands I recommend looking into for such a function. HDMI is going to be your standard connection, as HDMI 2.0b can effectively process 120hz in 4k.

In short, yes, full HD 1080p is fine. HDMI cable (ensure HDMI 2.0 if getting a 4k TV to fully experience the magic).

Ideally, 120hz refresh rate is going to be a long-term best friend if you’re using the TV for a lot of gaming.

There are cheap 4K TV’s on the market, and plus holiday sales you might be able to get a great deal.

LG and Samsung are the two I recommend.

Best of luck and happy hunting!

I wonder if you and others using large tv for display also use a head tracker? If so what specifically would you recommend.

I have trackir but I am not using it for long time. I have gone to setting up views on my controllers.
