Many similarities to my slippery slope there!!
Thatās what I do for the areas I fly. I have them really well covered with scenery so they look as good and realistic as possible - both payware and freeware (payware always taking precedence). And if there are areas of the world I want to explore, Iāll download any freeware for those areas and at least have them temporarily installed for said trip. Those sceneries Iāll typically remove from my community folder after use and move them to a backup folder.
Iām definitely one of those who brings that up. Not so much in mockery and more in a āmatter of factā way. The truth is, there are a lot of younger gamers out there - particularly (but not exclusively) on consoles - who just buy up every piece of DLC regardless what it is because they absolutely MUST have it all. Itās normally marketed that way. Not as much in MSFS, but other games for sure. And with the influx of console gamers discovering flight simulation for the first time on their Xbox, that āgotta collect 'em allā mentality gets carried over as well.
And itās done intentionally because thatās how subscription models like Gamepass work so well. Publishers donāt really make money on selling the base games, but they make a killing off their percentage share they get from selling all the DLCs. So cranking out DLC and heavily marketing them is highly encouraged by the publishers. And marketing being what it is, users respond to by buying as much as they can.

The Cessna 152 mod if I recall (and I still love flying it). I donāt know how many I have now but itās quite a lot. My most recent was the TDS GTNXi. Next up for me is the Black Square King Air overhaul. I havenāt flown the King Air once in MSFS I donāt think.
I randomly flew it last night with the JD improvement mod and a Ferrari livery! Itās pretty nice actually. Quite tricky to scrub speed and land. Think before that only flown it in some of the Challenges.
I think LEPA or LEIB airport on the marketplace.
Ever since i havent bought from the MP since it doesnt allow an addonlinker like feature to prevent loading all addons all the time.
Loading all addons all the time will dramatically increase ctd chances.
I am a helicopter fanatic, so my first download was the H145 base and action packs from Hype Proformace Group. I can now go on Medivac and Firefighting missions in VR. I think the whole msfs2020 team deserve a lot of credit. Itās a wonderful program and can only get better over time particularly as hardware improves. Thanks folks
An Alitalia DC9 released around the late 90ās and how many - lost count

Samedan Saint Moritz - Samedan Airport LSZS (Swiss) v2.5 Ā» Microsoft Flight Simulator
Vertigo Vertigo Ā» Microsoft Flight Simulator
My first add on, back in the day of FS 5 was a CH flight stick. Now I fly with a Saitek X56 pro, and Saitek switch and multi panels.
MSFS add ons in order of purchase are:
SoFly manual, because the MSFS one doesnāt exist
Reno basic pack - for the planes, not to race.
Premium Deluxe Upgrade - when it went on sale.
Bonanza V35B - the first plane I could identify in real life. My Dad and I built a balsa model of the VTail when I was about 4
Well having been over two years now, I donāt honestly remember the first add on. I did wonder the other day just how much $$$ I have spent on this sim counting everything from hardware to software and everything in between. I know I have spent an insane amount of $$$ on the PC itself as I have built two at the time top of the line machines. This also being done during a time when I literally had to buy parts from scalperās on the streets do to the chip shortage. I looked at my content manager the other day and have 1061 files in my community folder and my Microsoft store total from day one was over $3200.00 US. My name is Scott, and I have an addiction.
Wowzers That is quite some setup!! Amazing. Should be proud of that!
My equipment to go flying would literally ALL fit in this red box
