What's happened to the sound?

I had the same problem.

I heard the engines for 1 second and then no sound what so ever. I had to restart the game to get the sound back.

Updated to latest Windows update, reinstalled Flight Sim.

Still no joy. Call logged with service desk but I hold out little hope

Did you ever get your sound fixed?

Anyone else having issues with blurry cockpit in VR? Looks great if you zoom in but sitting in a normal position everything is blurry.

No. I’ve logged a call with the service desk but it’s gone quiet

I had the same problem fixed it by going to settings but the bug is back now.

yes me too.

Having the same issue! Worked fine yesterday! Now all of a sudden can hear only game sounds and music but no cockpit or engine sounds! Help!

You have to make FS2020 window active and then cross check the Win10 sound mixer for the correct output. At least I’d start from there if not already done.

Otherwise, they were saying they’re working on supersonic flights in the last Q&A and/or Videos, maybe you’ve found a way to trigger the feature and you can’t hear any sound left behind anymore

It worked perfectly fine all the way up until yesterday. I hear clicks and the game music but there are zero cockpit, engine, or atc sounds. I never changed anything. Even did a reinstall last night and same issue.

Actually you didn’t mentioned which headset you’re using either, this might be a good starting point for others to help too.

I’m using a wireless steel series Arctis 1. But I don’t think that’s the issue because it worked fine before and even if I switch my audio to speakers it does the same thing. Every other game works fine.

It could have been, besides, in the VR forum headset is usually referring to the VR headset, not the headphones

Sorry for not clarifying. Not using any kind of VR. It’s just odd to me that I can hear music and menu sounds but no engine or cockpit etc. why would one part of the sound work and the others sounds not work…?

Did you ever fix your problem? I’m having the exact same issue…

Same exact issue.

Then you rather post in a non VR forum if you want to get some answer?

I only posted here Bc I saw that some other people in this forum had the exact same problem as me. Regardless or VR or no VR.

Tweak the Sound settings under the MSFS 2020 Options tab, General menu.

It allows you to split and send engine noise to speakers while sending only ATC to headphones, or you can send everything to headphones.

one of the ongoing and very annoying “features” (not a bug, since it appear to be
a deliberate choice by the devs) in MSFS is that it uses your default sound device ONLY AND FOREVER and will completely ignore, for instance, you plugging in a headset while the game is running. although nearly every other Windows app or game will swap to the new headset, MSFS will simply ignore it. in fact, there appears to be absolutely no way to make MSFS use a different sound output device than the one it was initially set to use when you pressed play. i believe the issue with VR sound is related to this “feature”. since MSFS was set to use your speakers, or whatever, when you launched it, when you then enable VR mode it continues to use the speakers and ignores the newly available VR headset sound device, because… that’s just what MSFS does
