Sigh…
Jorg and the team are one of the more passionate guys I know. Saying that they’re in for the money and leave the customer in the cold is such a flaccid statement given the amount of free updates and attention 2020 received.
2024 launch was bad, yes. They alreadys issued a hotfix a few days ago and are now wading through all the bug reports and fixing them. You don’t have a subscription, you paid a one-off amount for the coming years. Nothing is lost.
If they were after your money, they’d be in a subscription mechanism.

Yeah I think so this has no-sense. I think they are in hurry to fix the major stuff, and that’s why they canceled all the communications / events. And it is better like that. They should concentrate on the core functionalities at least, they need to reduce the server overloads, the low bandwith warnings, the plenty of CTD, and I am not talking about VR that really needs a major overhaul…

At least we can hope for a „more detailed message from our team“ today! I‘m curious….

Absolutely. In lieu of the postponed devstream let’s hope today’s update will be somewhat more informative than the last.

Lame. No surprise. They often cancel and delay things last minute. Just yesterday afternoon it was confirmed still happen. They need to take the stream to hear about the issues live. Now we’ll probably get some cheesy message about how they’re optimistic things are working well etc etc. and make thanksgiving as an excuse. But yes, an extended stream would be good. Next weeks should be two hours long.
The hot fix really didn’t do anything. Didn’t address big planes causing sim to freeze, didn’t address blurry textures, slow loading, didn’t add in marketplace enable disable, and more.

It maybe didn’t do anything for you. They solved quite some CTDs for loads of other people.
The stuff you’re mentioning is mostly loading issues from the servers. This has also been improved in the days after the patch.
Marketplace not available was not a mistake, they delayed that on purpose and will be enabled when most developers are ready with 2024 compaitable stuff.

Still a big issue. Having graphics be blurry like a game from 20 years ago

Nobody said that it wasn’t
Microsobo: Since June 2023, we’ve shown you users the same trailer in different ways, promised great graphics, more Xbox ram, declared virtually all addons will work and be there day 1, we’ve tested servers for laaunc, marketplace will be ready.
Users: none of that happened. Ccmon guy.
Them: Dev stream tomorrow, really it is, it’s confirmed!
Next morning: wait, no, actually delayed.
Us: ugggggg.
I along with others were looking forward to hearing from a real voice and not a text box today , to share issues and hear a positive roadmap. But now another week delay.

Which you can literally play over 500 other games with. That has not much to do with MSFS specifically.
They promised it would be ready at launch. Don’t launch with main functions disabled. That point of launching means it’s ready or if to meet a deadline release it as is and make a patch later. Don’t remove stuff.
But fine. Yes. They had a reason. But they said a few weeks later. We’re past one week now. How much more? Because developers may not be ready for months. So you’re telling me you’d prefer it to be disabled indefinitely until more devs are ready? I don’t buy that.
To play devils advocate, fine keep new purchases and items disabled thru Christmas or January. But give us an enabling and disabling function as well as local download for addons.

No I wouldn’t prefer that.
Yes, agreed. That is desperately needed. There are quite a few outdated and outright defective mods in the marketplace (Orbx London comes to mind) which are now streamed without the possibility of disabling them.

That or having poor quality addons before a better one came out, so having cluttered aircraft choices or duplicate scenery airports on top of eachother
Let’s hope we get at least that ability before years end.

Seedy-What time should we be seeing an update, communication etc from the team?

That’s a grown up thing to say. Glad they didn’t sugar coat it, It’s also the reason they pulled the poll. I love this franchise to pieces, its my main interest. Best of luck sorting all this out.
Where do we put our Questions for the stream for the Devs??
If I was to have 1, it’s
Q. Are they aware of some checkpoints in missions not registering us passing through them, resulting in a fail, I’m used to bugs, but that is game breaking, so I boycotted career mode till fixed.
Probably the ones in the bug reporting section, priority on the ones with many votes and/or the biggest impact.
You just got one: They’re focusing on fixing the issues that came up during the last week.
Soon, as this seems to be something with a big impact, affecting everyone.
Oh boy…
Because you can have it in Beta for as long as you want, there will always be bugs in the release version.
I’m most curious looking forward as I debate whether or not to buy this sim. When will the first big bug fixing patch come out? Will it be one a month or smaller hot fixes here and there, etc. I want to hear their plan. Then I want to see action.

A lot of things were said before MSFS 2024 came out, not much of it came true or didn’t work at all. For me, neither Microsoft nor Asobo are credible anymore. I can’t take them seriously.
