When will MSFS support multi-monitor views?

I have upgraded my sim from P3D to MSFS. I have a 210 curved projector screen with 3 4K projectors. At the moment is looks awful because the sides are stretched. When will MSFS have support like in P3D or XP11?

What will be the solution to get the same possibility as FSX ?
When MSFS will give a solution

Ah GodAtum, I see your disappointment (i took a refund the day I ordered MSFS)…well it is listed as “started” and “backlog”… it is a much saying “yeah yeah, we’ll have look at it… some day” in software development circles.

The “fly everywhere hype” has abated now (it shows on social now), and MS/Asobo will focus now to keep it going as a “gaming” experience (VR is the next big thing to keep it going a game…). Iow every investment of resources now in such a “pro-feature” will be carefully considered whether this is will be worth it overall. I don’t see XPlane nor P3D being replaced rapidly in the semi-pro and pro cockpit/FTD builders market.

I remain mildly hopeful, but I fear when they finally integrated a decent multi-image generator functionality (networked PC’s, multi projector/monitor settings, etc) our FTD has been written off I fear. And oh, I do not mean 3 HD monitors, we are well beyond that stage these days indeed…

the one good thing about VR is it requires 2 simultaneous views for steroscopic vision…what’s to say that the alignment of the view is different while the eyepoint is the same? VR should be the stepping stone we need to get multi-display working…the next step would be performance improvement when using multi-display/VR

If we can take the window of instruments out of the cockpit why it’s so difficult to get independant windows for the front and side windows and use an independant cockpit for a true simulator ?

Somewhere between 2021 and 2022 as specified by Asobo in November 19th development update :frowning:

Hi
bad news… :pensive:

Martin Bossard said multi-monitor support will probably be after VR and DX12 is released :frowning:

During the Q&A session today (25/11) Asobo said that that “they will work on multi monitors” as soon as possible, but many other task higher in the queue and it requires “a lot of work”. No commitments. They not corrected the statement on the feature list that it may be as long as 2022 :frowning:
So “2021-2022” is most probably not a typo but the sad reality. VR will come first. Demolish your physical cockpits and start desiging hybrid ones like this guy:

QED…

This video… he’s having a laugh, really?

2022 for multi-monitor support as per latest twitch session.

The way the sim renders frames, even instruments, is particularly GPU intensive. I suspect facilitating MM (multi-monitors) means DREADFUL frame rates will become unplayable unless major optimizations are made. VR development (which is post Beta) should be already providing the basis for MM support inherently.

Fingers crossed, but 2022 is a long wait.

2022 OMG… Microsoft/Asobo, please… dont let us wait that long!!!

The “hybrid cockpit” presented on the YouTube movie a couple of post above, will not work with MFS2020 - no support for VR controllers. So the guy who built it, will need to stay with X-Plane.

Some images of MSFS in triple 4K. lightly stretched to the sides but not too noticable. Running at 20fps in dense airports, up to 35fps in cruise.

Is that triple monitors all attached to one card? Like a 3080 or 3090? Or three video cards configured to act as one large desktop?

I’ve been considering trying to use my Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 as a touch screen for instruments. But have no idea how well that could work. I’ve had it work ok in P3D in times past.

Looking at the development roadmap they have started working on the Multi Monitor Support, YAY

So are you still holding your breath. I think they have no intention of implementing Multiple screens. This is a XBOX game . VR support and Chinese localization seems to be more important.

Well, the Development Roadmap says otherwise.

All - The best way is having multiple outputs on the card, but I use laptop, so I use a USB-C Hub, which has two HDMI ports, and one DP. I have not connected up to DP because need cable and we are moving so new stuff is taboo. I was going to donate old monitor, buy new one in the fall but if multiple monitor support is coming out, will keep the old one for FMS and Map Display. I should be able to arrange them in such a way, as to not get motion sick. Going for 49" Samsung Neo G9.
