Where are my premium deluxe aircrafts form 2020

My Waco and Mooney were showing in the library but couldn’t find them in the aircraft menu. I eventually found the Waco under the C170b and the Mooney well I can’t remember right now.

So look under each planes config menu and you might find what you’re missing!

So, it turns out they chose to sort aircraft by ui_createdby and icao_model, rather than the old ui_manufacturer, ui_type, ui_variation.

I have no idea why they didn’t realize this would completely screw up the library. So, if planes are missing, search by the author of the plane you’re looking for, and then click into planes, you may find their other ones there.

I’m really upset, this is going to create a completely disorganized library of planes. Unbelievable.

Liveries are created by other authors, so they’ll show up as different planes. The same planes will be listed together even though they’re very different, icao_model is often left out or completely wrong in so many aircraft. It’s going to be a complete mess.

I think we’re also running into a situation that not all planes have been migrated to 2024 yet, either, as they’re still having compatibility issues, so, there’s that, too.

Not only that, but, while technically correct, it’s going to screw up the organization further, they ignore the order of the [flightsim.xxx] field that used to be used to sort variations, and list the variations alphabetically now, making ui_variation useless to document the actual variation name if people start naming them to control the sort order instead of what the variation is, or, at least make the variation name longer with extra characters for sorting.

WIthout the ability to create favorites and sort order of our variations, and losing the manufacturer field as a sorting field, I just… sigh.

The people who created the UI for MSFS 2024 were pretty obviously not users of MSFS or enthusiasts familiar with the ecosystem. Hopefully, Asobo will be open to suggestions for improvement and wholesale rewriting of portions of how the UI is organized in certain aspects. It seems pretty good, but there are some aspects that are just crazy, the library organization being the one that irks me. Then again, I’m still waiting for my U.S. LCE from Aerosoft, that wasn’t delayed , so, I imagine I’ll find other things that could use improvement.

Yeah, none of mine showed up at first. Eventually they did. But I caved in and bought the prem deluxe anyway since it came with more helis. Which are pretty fun really.
The downside is that a big chunk of planes added are from a developer that is notoriously shallow with system depth and the plane actually functioning.
Then you have inibuilds which are amazing!

Couldn’t agree more with all of this.

The new aircraft organization is just so messy (broken). Having a bunch of liveries showing up as separate aircraft is really bad.

That aside I can’t understand why they still haven’t implemented a favorites and sorting system for the aircraft library given the number of planes we now have for the higher tier purchases plus payware.

they’ve made it even worse by removing the aircraft categories for prop, jet etc. that we had in 2020 so now everything is in one huge aircraft listing.

This is a tremendously negative impact. I’ve spent the last four years running PowerShell scripts to manage, name, sort my aircraft based on the old identifiers you listed. There is no way to sort aircraft/skins now. I like my aircraft alphabetized in the menu system by Manufacturer then model then airline or another identifier. This is the worst. Throw in that the sim now forces dynamic registration numbering with ■■■■■■ looking fonts and I cannot see this sim spending a lot of time on my SSD. I have over 3.5 TB of skins I need to get into the sim from 2020 and with this menu system, no way. Not going to happen.
