Hehe. That was kind of my point though the effects we are talking about are not fundamental to the experience of flight. I mean yeh, if the undercarriage was not modelled and the aircraft floated above the runway or the flaps were not modelled etc.
If we take the car analogy I would compare contrails to a lack of tyre smoke if you spun the wheels rather than something functional like missing wiper blades.
Don’t get me wrong I landed on a dirt strip the other day and was kinda expecting there to be dust thrown up from the wheels and prop wash. It felt kind of missing but I had still had a really cool flight.
Just so we are clear I was in no way having a dig at you - there’s so many sniping remarks and people taking offence when perhaps they should not, personally I am really bored of seeing them.
Blitzer I didn’t take any offence - no worries!! You’re right, my car analogy is a bit over the top! I’ll go with maybe it’s the cup holder we would be missing??!!
Anyway, we have got something that’s going to be very special when it is fully working.
Bying a sim, is NOT like bying a car…jeeez, get over it. FSX wasn’t flawless from the beginning neither…and about the contrails, they appeared years after its release…
PATIENCE…this is only COSMETIC matter. If it flies like it is supposed to, with all the winds interraction and trustworthy AP, then it can be called a FLIGHTSIM…
You really want to compare with buying a car?? Ok, so according to your wining, you’re more concerned about the color of the paint of your car, rather than it’s engine??
Come ooooon…be serious 1 sec
I think someone sees it right finally, we all paid for a sim that ( having flown FSX for 12 years ) we expected to be a sim in the first place and a google airplane to go and visit places in the second place. Now both of them are not by far reached, i think MSFS should pay us to be BETA TESTERS for them, and at least stop putting in Gigabytes of updates that have nothing to do with the sim working properly, the Japan update is only interesting for so many people, not for me, why must it consume so much time on my pc? I’d rather have plane fixes, wind fixes and so on, and leave Japan alone.
Different teams work on different parts of the sim, the team doing the world updates aren’t going to slow down another department who never touch scenery. To be fair most of the work on Japan was done by Gaya i.e a 3rd party. The simple fact is the sim was released early, much like all software these days, even FSX took 18 months to fix with the second service pack, although it definitely was more feature complete at launch.
Dear AndyDigital, even with the knowledge that this is so, why is there no improvement in plane behavior and wind implementation? I find myself flying planes that do not respond on commands given in the AP, filling out altitude for me instead of going to the altitude i have set, getting into stall because it will not take my commands, and more off this. Is there anyone in the team that has a PPL? Where will all the Gb’s that we receive end? my SSD is 500Gb , will it be enough to have the SIM working properly in the end? Can we remove those parts of the sim we will not use anyway?
