Where are the discovery flights?

I see there’s one for the USA update when I start up flight sim, but have no idea how to start it. Can anyone help???

Yes sure! First things fist i’d like to welcome you on the forum @chopsnsauce !
Unfortunally those ones were only for a week. Ones an update is out, You find this discover trip where today you have the Paris landing challenge. This flight was from new York to Washington with the Cessna Caravan. You can ricreate that. If you lost the japan update tour this man on flightsim ricreate it.

Maybe he ricreate the usa update tour soon… :wink:

Ps.: Have you install the USA update from the marketplace?

I only got FS2020 last week, so it’s telling me about stuff I can’t do when I start it up. :joy:

And yes, I’ve installed the USA and Japan updates, thanks for asking.

Ok, i was happy ones the usa and japan word update were out, and I realized that I hadn’t installed them after some time from the exit. :sweat_smile: :joy: Maybe you have same problem :wink: :joy: but isnt your case.

Go to Packages\Official\OneStore(or Steam)\asobo-liveevent\Missions\Asobo\LiveEvent and look for the LiveEvent.PLN. Copy that to your …8bbwe\LocalState folder and rename it to something that makes sense to you. The current file in your LiveEvent folder should be the USA flight from KSWF to KDCA. You can open Notepad and drag the file into the window to read the XML code to be sure.

Just some feedback for anyone that stumbles on this topic.

The Japan flight plan above is a RAR file (Why?) and when I try to extract it I get an error.

I can’t find the Asobo\LiveEvent folder in Steam.

Short answer is, if you miss the discovery flight, you’ve missed it! I’ll live with it.

Search for LiveEvent.PLN using the Windows search feature. It should be in there somewhere.

7-Zip opens just about every archive format existing, including .rar files. Just right-click the file, move to the 7-Zip line, then click the first “Open archive” line. If you don’t have it, it’s free, ad-free, and installs in about five seconds.

The LiveEvent folder is only containing the latest Live Event. The previous ones are always deleted. Here are the .PNL-files for Japan LiveEvent.PLN (7.8 KB) and USA usa east coast LiveEvent route.PLN (6.9 KB). They are not linked to any specific aircraft or weather type. As soon as a new Live Event is issued, make a copy for future use.
