I can’t figure out how to add a co-pilot to the cockpit of my CRJ7. Looks kinda goofy in external views. What am I doing wrong? I suppose I can rationalize it by believing that the poor guy/gal had too much Starbucks during the last stop and had to run to the mini-bathroom at rear of aircraft.
Same issue on the 900/1000 series
Is it an Aerosoft thing or a wider Asobo issue?
Easiest way is to ask Aerosoft to do it. You may be able to edit the .gltf and add PILOT1 to the model manually, but you’ll need to know how that works.
Isn’t there in the settings page to choose pilot and copilot model? If I remember right both were visible on the 700 prior to sim update 6 or 7… I’ll try to change copilot model when I come home and see if maybe something changed on the last updates
When looking from outside or inside?
You are not supposed to see them from inside unless the devs add the option for it.
From outside i flew the A320 recently and i can see them both pilots.
Due to shortage of pilots, due to the pandemic, co-pilots have been removed. LOL!
Consider that done!
We’ll look into it. Something changed somewhere.
Im resurrecting an old issue here… Aerosoft CRJ copilot is invisible in external view. Kinda stands out in screenshots :\
Is there a way to fix this that anybody knows of? Looks like Aerosoft gave up on fixing it
Maybe he’s popping to the toilet while you’re outside taking photos. He’s very camera shy.
Haha yeah in that other one somebody said he just assumes his copilot had too much airport coffee
To fix this you have to open the flight_model.cfg file for each type (C550, 700, 900, 1000, ect) and edit the the number of pilots under the weight and balance section. Change the value from 1 to 2 for the pilots. I don’t know why Aerosoft hasn’t addressed this.
Example: Find the station_load for the pilots. Make sure the number is 2. Not 1.

Hope this helps.
Where can I find flight_model.cfg?
Did that, didn’t work.Still doesn’t show a co-pilot in the cockpit from interior view.
That’s in …\Community\aerosoft-crj\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft_CRJ_700\flight_model.cfg
