Kinda new to this program…where is the community package and how would one go about moving it to another folder…saw this suggestion in the latest update??? Thanks in advance!
Look for a file called UserCfg.Opt on your PC. Open it using any text editor. At the bottom - it points to the Packages folder path. Go to there and you will find your Community Folder.
MS Store
C:\Users[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\ Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Steam
C:\Users[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightDashboard_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
custom install
If you happened to use a custom location for your Flight Simulator installation, then proceed there. Example: F:\Flight Simulator\Community\
Still can't find it?
- While running MSFS 2020 do the following:
- Go to Options / General
- Click on
Developers
which you will find at the bottom of the list on the left- Switch Developers Mode on
- On the Dev Menu select
Tools / Virtual File System
- The community folder location can be found under
Watched Bases
no need to move it, use the addon linker for addons that go in there, its a must have.
