Where is the Digital Ownership App?

This morning I could not start FS2020 because it opened the microsoft sore page instead.
After hours of trying to repair, I had no choice other than removing FS2020 and re-install it
But I could not!
Then after installing it on another older and less powerful computer, which by the way was worthless since on a small airport I succeeded to fly at 7 to 10 FPS, so no slide show for me
More importantly I realised that the installation on the older computer worked because I have the digital authorship app on , which is missing on the newer computer…
To cut a long story short, the installation of FS2020 cannot be done on my dedicated flightsim computer because the digital ownership is not there. The worse part is that I actually own the digital ownership app but IMicrosoft Store does not let me download the app… anybody has some idea to end this nightmare?
Thanks in advance

I have MS Store , Deluxe Edition.

Maybe try this:
Go to Settings, Apps
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Advanced Options
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen
Click Microsoft Flight Simulator Digital Ownership
Click “Uninstall”

See what MS Store does now.

Thanks Ron, MSFS is not on the computer anymore so no MSFS App. I could get info on the Digital Ownership in the MS Store App which they confirm I own, but there no option to Uninstall.
Well, it is what it is…

Tip for Store version: if you get at reinstall - with Store licenses, it helps, when you have a blank PC (uninstalled) or a new PC, before attempt to install, log in with the account you used to buy MSFS. In the settings, check if Microsoft has added the PC to your devices. When you register yourself as owner of that PC (it will be added to lists that Microsoft keeps on its servers) you could also be able to move a store license. I know it works for Goat sim… it will disable access on the old machine, I don’t know how MSFS behaves… maybe it does require an uninstall like Ron explained… But like Goat-sim, MSFS is a Store application conforming to certain rules…

I open the MS Store page before I open MSFS every time…to check for updates to MSFS, Xbox live, etc…just to make sure it’s up to date before running MSFS.

It’s just the first step of the checklist. Once MSFS is open I go to the content manager to see if there are any updates there, then to the Marketplace to see if there’s anything new or on sale or free in there, then to the General GUI page to check my ‘Data’ and see where I am on the usage, storage, etc… Also to make sure that if there was an update, it didn’t change my settings.
Never had a problem

I never had any problem starting and playing MS FS since August last year… how in the world this morning, trying to start FS2020 as usual, could I end up in MS Store? Maybe because my Digital ownership suddenly disappeared for no reason since I did not install or change anything since the last update… The question is : why did my digital ownership app suddenly vanish?
Another Microsoft mistery I guess

it sounds like you’ll need to open a ticket with the zendesk if you haven’t already…

yes I need to do it… however I opened one 7 weeks ago regarding bridges which look like dams, and which sometimes are under water, and I am still waiting for an answer! so I try to stay zen {no pun intended)

Although I have the FS2020 Digital Ownership App,
I have no idea what it is.

It is on my C:\ drive:

Ah, the mysteries of Digital Ownership! For some time now the Microsoft Store tells me that Digital Ownership has an update, but the update fails every time. So far (knock on wood) this hasn’t prevented me from using MSFS, and I’m reluctant to ■■■■ around with anything since it’s working.

Anyone else encountered this anomaly?

I had an issue way back in October.
While downloading an update at the store, there was a hiccup and it crashed.
After that, I think I installed the store update, but, when I got into MSFS, it did not recognize I was logged in. I eventually had to uninstall the store and xbox apps, install them again and a new xbox app that had just been released, and eventually, I was able to log in again.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with your problem, I had some kind of registry screw up with my login apparently, but, yes, I had an issue with the digital ownership.

Funny thing, actually, I could get into MSFS, but I couldn’t access Bing data or photogrammetry, etc… My scenery looked all messed up and that’s how I realized there was a problem.

lol - yes calling it the ‘zen’ desk is really a giant middle finger to zen

but you wouldn’t likely get an answer to the bridge thing because it is a well known ‘feature’ of top down imagery being used to then try to generate ‘hollow’ or ‘open structures’. The process just fills in the open areas as if they were solid. That has been asked and answered a thousand times here on the forum.
Only the hand made bridges and marinas and such are rendered correctly.

Thanks but my PC does not recognize this command. I sent a request to Zendesk to see what they think

My problem at the time was my login was broken (back in October). I fixed it by reinstalling Microsoft store, and installed the new Xbox app.

Unfortunately I did all that I still cannot download FS and the DigOwnership
Thanks

Done that to the point of updating the MS store App… which did not work!
I’ll wait for a contact from ZenDesk :sleepy:

Any error code?

Yes error is 08007139F. I spent 12 hours between yesterday and today trying to fix a problem which has nothing to do with me since I enjoyed this sim for the past 10 months w/o any problem.
I thank friendly people such as yourself who gave me sound advices which unfortunately did not fix the problem. I just received a reply from ZenDesk who ask me to repeat the same advices that I have been applying during hours with no success. I really believe that my system has been completely messed up and maybe, just maybe (I am not a computer expert), I should factory reset my machine which is dedicated to FS2020.
