Where is the Simulator located in windows 10?

Tried this, but syntax or something is incorrect.

Yes, you can’t have a line break (i.e. enter) after /d as that will run the command (mklink /d) without arguments. If you use copy/paste make sure to not copy anything before or after, and only press enter when it looks correct with everything on one line.
The quotes need to be around each path by itself, but in this case you don’t need any quotes as there are no spaces in the paths.
Also if you use C:\Games you won’t save any space on C: so you really should use a different drive!

  1. Move the Microsoft.FlightSimulator_… folder to the destination, in this example D:\Games\MSFS (so that you have for example D:\Games\MSFS\LocalCache inside the MSFS folder)
  1. Search for ā€œcmdā€ in the start menu, right-click the result and run as administrator
  2. Inside the admin command prompt, copy and paste this exactly as is and just press enter after:

mklink /D C:\Users\Vogel\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe D:\Games\MSFS

Thank you for all your help. Since I am a total Ignoramus regarding Microsoft computer lingo, I decided to bite bullet and just reinstall the Sim.

Unfortunately, I am now stuck on the ā€œCHECKING FOR UPDATESā€ screen.
I have tried to start the install process 3 times…still end at this screen.

What do you recommend?

Wait until itā€˜s done checking for updates.

A LOT of people are probably downloading the latest patch in anticipation for their VR googles under the Christmas tree

Problem SOLved.

I cleaned up D:/ drive and opened a new folder called MSFS.

Making a clean install there.

Finally all the MSFS related files and the Community folder in that dedicated drive.
And separated from all the Windows files in drive C:/
