Ahh yes. The Trislander. Beautiful plane

Definitely. I love all of these!

Ever get to fly in one? … As wide as a C152, as long as a 707 :joy: Pilot was already half way to cruise altitude at rotation!

Islander/Trisalnder are one of a rare breed that let you have a view of the terrain, versus a face full of wing and the two rotating oil leaks. Looking forward to the A2A Commander for this too.

Unfortunately I didn’t manage to fly inside one. Although they were flying right over my house during its Approach to London Gatwick Airport.

That was days gone by though. They do not fly over where I live anymore!

THE A2A Commander??

Have a look at the A2A website. It should be epic.

woa I didn’t expect the B17 now.. but I see nothing about any Commander.. The Aerostar is in production though

I second the Let410!

The aircraft has gone through a lot of renaming over the decades. I first knew it as the Ted Smith Aerostar, but then Piper got hold of it

Aaaahhhh… I see  yep THAT‘s going to be epic for sure!

I would think this one is guaranteed. With canned Asosbo avionics and the toyish appeal, it would be a big seller and cheap to do.

Not at all. I just think there is a little more to a pilot that is flying a aircraft with a MTOW of 450,000 lbs with 100-400 souls on board flying at 35,000 feet at close to mach 1. Every type of aircraft serves a different purpose. For sight seeing the light fixed wing or ultra-light is the way to go. I just finished flying a two week Route 66 flight from Chicago Miegs Field to Santa Barbara. 2280 miles. I’ve been flight simming since 1995, and that is a first for me; the amazing scenery makes it well worth it!!!

I was just teasin’

That is really cool! What a great idea!

You just inspired me to follow the longest Route in the US, the Boston Post Rd, Rt 20.

Really great idea

Ooh, and then figure out some of the old Coast to Coast original Air Mail Routes…

Edit: Hey! they got it backwards, it doesn’t begin in Oregon, I begins in Boston! Where it was originally laid out!

But maybe I will start in Oregon and end up home.. sounds like some neat stuff to see out west… Yellowstone, Wind River Canyon, etc… Real IFollowRoads flying!!!
