Hi. I have this marvelous aircraft and intend to upgrade to the Garmin 750.
I am going to be supporting crewmember in a 421 (me w/private single engine only). That aircraft has a 750 (not xi) and no 650. This is prep so that I am as familiar and helpful as legally possible.
Are the PMS50 and RealSimGear GTN750 the ones to buy? I don’t see other options. TDS seems to only have the 750xi version.
I assume the PMS50 will be closer to the older Garmin 750 than the xi. Is that right?
I don’t want a tablet solution since getting addicted to the FiightSimBuilder 530. Thanks for any help!
I bought the RealSimGear and TDS GTN software. Unable to get popout to work. Does anyone have this combo working in a 414AW in FS24?
Hello,
Which way do you use to pop-up the TDS GTNXi Pro? Is it as a MSFS gauge, using RIGHT ALT+LEFT CLICK on the TDS GTNXi LCD Screen? Or did you set the TDS GTNXi into the special Standalone mode?
I’m kind of new to this. I chose one of the flysimware 414 liveries with the gtn 750.
I installed the TDS GTN software. Then POPM for 2024.
Hmm… makes me realize I don’t understand one thing. Does the 414AW already come with a functioning 750? I popped out the one that was in the flysimware aircraft.
I just assumed that since I installed the TDS software, somehow that was the panel application.
I normally use Alt pop out GNS 530s for other aircraft. In this case I used the POPM 2024, to attempt to pop it out. That app seems necessary since the panel is touch.
I noticed that with the 414 panel the same magnifying glass from the built-in panel pop-out utility appeared and seemed to interfere.
Think I understand now. To have touch on the RSG 750, the TDS software must be in standalone mode.
I see that for standalone mode, an aircraft without a GTN750 is needed. At least in my case, the external RSG panel screen remained blank until I picked a C414AW with a GNS 530.
I thought pop up panel mgr 24 solved this but not so.
There aren’t clear instructions about this part of the install. One could easily pay a lot of money for the panel, software, navigraph, etc., thinking they could have a setup similar to the FlightSImBuilder GNS530 in which the standalone panel has touch and works with the virtual panel.
What does the default GNS530 and default NAV1/2 do in the C414AW? Time to find out.
“I see that for standalone mode, an aircraft without a GTN750 is needed.”
From the TDS Sim Software side of this, the comment above is not correct. For your purpose, you need to:
Select the FSW C414 with the TDS livery.
Configure the TDS GTNXi into standalone mode by creating the Standalone.txt file in the appropriate path.
We will continue the discussion on the TDS support channel for properly sizing the standalone display window to your RSG display.
