Hello Simmers! I want to know which graphics card: the older RX 7900 XTX or newer RX 9070 XT would you prefer? Btw: can I use FSR4 in FS2024? I’m playing in 2560 × 1440px.
If you think you need the VRAM then the 7900XTX, if you want the newer card then then 9070XT, both will run FSR4 but the 7900XTX needs a mod to do it and it will kill some frames. For FSR4 you are better off with the 9070XT.
I am in the same situation as you about which to buy and I have decided to wait for either the 5080 Super or hopefully AMD have 24GB card to compete with the 5080 Super also. I can wait a few more months.
Thank you BattyPlains5374. Currently I have a RTX 5080 installed but I have Black Screens while fliying the simulator. I will take it to the PC-Dealer tomorrow and we will see if it’s technically ok or not.
The next RTX Super generation will be nice. You think more RAM will be better I guess.
I’m really pleased with my 9070, but beware there is an issue currently with some of the lighting effects and MSFS2024 causing artifacting on screen with 9000 series GPUs.
It’s in the list of bugs being addressed, apparently SU5 so it’s a little way away.
There are some threads about the 5080 and also the driver versions being used for the 5000 series cards. Also problems with slow ssd’s and psu’s being underpowered
My RTX 5080 was faulty. Have got another one.
Which company manufactured that faulty 5080? Could they give you more specifics about the fault? There might be other folk with the same faulty card
For Vram a lone the RX 7900 XTX which I use is the one to go for you can hold out and see if AMD will do a newer 24GB card but im not sure if or when they will launch it, as for the hit on FPS with FSR 4 i have seen some test that show a few FPS drop but the quailty is so so much better than FSR 3

I’m having a Palit Geforce RTX 5080 GamingPro. The problem was a black screen and the case fans spinning at high speed. Then nothing worked anymore and I had to restart the PC.
My card was changed to a new GamingPro by Palit. But I think it can happen to any card.
