Which is the correct version of 787 heavy mod

Hi Folks;

I know there are lots of topics around the issues with updates so I didn’t want to join in since my question is more about exactly which version is correct and the issue I am having loading it.

I downloaded 2 versions
1: Dev Version (B78XH Main) which when I unzip and place the file in the Community folder the mods does not show up in the aircraft. I tired further expanding the main folder and extract certain files and place those in the comm folder and still the mods did not show up in the aircraft.

  1. Regular version (B78XH V0.1.13) which loads fine and works ok after doing a few flights. The concern is since I haven’t used the product before so I am not sure if I am missing functionality. One thing I noticed is, it does not show Sim Rate Manger (which I have seen in the notes and previous videos). Again, not sure if it was there before and has since been removed, or I am missing something.

I am quite versed on the functionality in detail of the Boeing FMC but, I am not comparing this product to anything since It’s a freeware and I think they are doing a fantastic job on the product improving the aircraft. I have seen payware do less :grinning: I just want to confirm I am not doing something wrong to get the best out of the product.

I have attached a few photos to maybe suggest which files I need to extract specifically from the dev version and I am not. Maybe B78XH V0.1.13 is the only file I should be using but just need some feedback.

As usual any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Kindest Regards.

The development version is better. Make sure you are downloading the correct one. If it’s not showing up after install, you either have a bad install or don’t have the correct Dev version.

You can’t just download whatever is on the main branch fwiw.

That is the only Dev version on the site labeled “78XH Main” hence the reason I am asking if that looks and or sounds correct from anyone else who is using it.

Thanks again.

I tried a few times and the same issue, so I don’t think it’s a bad download.

It’s the only file in the “Code” main branch.

I think you’re supposed to get the dev version via the discord channel

There is also an experimental version, but I do not know what the difference is.
When i flew it month ago, you will have a heavy button in the mcdu and no extra plane. Dont think it is changed.

@[dapol; Thanks I did go and get the Dev version via the discord channel and reinstalled it. But again, I didn’t see any difference between that and the published version.
The only question I really had was I didn’t see the “Sim Rate Manger” feature which was listed in the notes which made be wonder if I had the updated version.

No big deal I am fine using it as is until fully functional Paywares hits the market.

Cheers.

I have the dev version installed (from several weeks ago at least) and I do see Sim Rate Manager when you push the Heavy button. Make sure you have it installed correctly.

Now, that’s interesting. I don’t see it, there’re not too many ways to install this; just unzip the file and place it in the Community folder. Trust me I have done my fair share of much more complicated installation of add-ons in FSX and P3D so, no concern there. Did I miss something?

I have attached 4 photes.

  • Name of the file after I have unzipped it (that was then placed in the Community folder)
  • The way the file looked (after expanding it) just to see the content (maybe you can take a look and see if yours have the same files)
  • Photos of Heavy Mode, start screen and the configuration screen which is suppose to have the Sim Rate manager.

My sim is pretty stock no additional addon including aircrafts. The only other file in my Community folder is the Salty 747 mods which works file.

What I am missing?

Thanks again.

All that extra stuff in your package tells me you have the wrong version. You downloaded it from github, didn’t you?

I take it back. I don’t have a SimRate manager. But you can compare what I have on the Ident screen (right side). Looks like I’m one version number higher than you.

This is the limit of my ability to help. I think you need to get direction from people on the Heavy Discord.

@Mdapol; thanks for your response I appreciate it. Actually I am 1 version higher than you I think. I am 1-14-1 and you are I think 1-13-1. In any event, the fact that you don’t have the Sim Rate Manager means that it’s no longer there. I also saw something in the notes about no longer being accessible by a Manager? or something like that.

Again, not having the product before I wouldn’t have missed it but seeing it in previous screen shots in the documents and past videos, I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something.

I actually just completed a 2 hour flight in KSFO and the features worked fine.

So all in all I am good to go and again thank you for taking the time to clarify for me.

BTW: I did download it from the Discord server yesterday not Github. Again, since this is a Dev Server I am sure things will change somewhat frequently and not stay static for a long time.

Cheers.

It’s also available on flight sim.to but I don’t know which version it is.
