In the 747 cockpit - any daytime activity - if you press the down button on the xbox controller to have more instrument real-estate the outside area goes very white - mist like.
If you go to any other view then it is fine - please see screenshot attached.

EDIT: ok does seem to be present in other aircraft too, however in the 747 it is quite bad.
It’s not an issue. That’s called exposure compensation and every single real-world camera does it, and even your own eyes do it.
It’s not a bug and it’s working precisely as expected. The cockpit is too dark compared to the outside so when you focus your view on the darker instruments, the whole scene gets an exposure increase (becomes brighter).
Thanks for that @EricGonzalezM and @Neo4316 I will try it - however it does not do this with any other aircraft and it did not do this prior to the latest update.
Here is a better picture in the Strong Winds Activities Innsbruk LOWI Austria. You will notice that the runway is hardly visible in the photo to the right. This is the same issue in all 747 daylight scenarios and no other aircraft has this issue.
The way to change this is in the config file. If you have the MS Store version, go to the start menu (or press Win+R) and paste
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
You can then open UserCfg.opt in Notepad and change “EyeAdaptation 1” to “EyeAdaptation 0” (a bit down, under PostProcess).
Note: I haven’t tested this now, but I’m pretty sure it works.
I did another test and even though the effect is present in the other aircraft it isn’t as bad as it is in the 747. I guess it has always been there and I just did not notice it.
Grab any aircraft, anyone, doesn’t matter. Set the time at close to sunset and fly straight at the sun. While inside the cockpit, move your camera to focus on the sun and then on the instruments, look at what happens.
This is not an issue and not a bug, it’s simply how the game engine compensates for dark and light areas, same as your eyes, same as your phone’s camera.
It’s exactly the same on the A320. If you compare the screenshots you will notice that on both right hand screenshots there’s noticeable more scenery visible from the A320 cockpit, hence the darker cockpit.
The effect is a nice, but a bit overdone since it simulates the dynamic range of a camera instead of the human eye.
