Would be nice to see them flowing and maybe the odd canoeist
Some day. Before that it would be nice to be able to see the static rapids without being covered over by calm water. Some places have no water polygons and it looks better in a lot of cases.
This could be much broader. Currently in the sdk there are only a few water options - ocean, lake, river, pond, and 1 or 2 others.
They don’t differ from another much, I think wave heights or generated maritime traffic.
I would love to have water masking options. As the other commenter mentioned, sometimes the printed graphic looks better from a distance than the water polygons.
Currently the sdk allows water polygons and water exclusion polygons similar to vegetation and rocks. I want the option to be able to change the water opacity so we could texture the river channels as we see fit (including rapids even if just a ground texture). Also I’d like to be able to change the water color to represent the glacial teal, the clay stained, the tannic, etc. Opacity and color are adjustable for all other textures in the sim so having the same option for water would create endless customization.
Unfortunately the way that water works now is if the water polygon is small enough, the water remains transparent. If it’s larger it turns generic blue regardless of which type we choose in the sdk.
I strongly support some work on this topic.
