Why Can't I Run New Geneva (LSGG) Add-on from One Store?

I recently purchased the new Geneva (LSGG) scenery from the MS Store. (The default LSGG is OK, but the city is not well modeled: No Jet d’Eau, no Palais des Nations, etc. The add-on package would clearly be a great improvement.)

Eagerly booted up and started at LSGG – immediate CTD! Tried it again: same result! Went to a nearby airport, Samedan (LSZS), and flew to Geneva. I could see the Jet d’Eau in the distance, but on final to land – CTD!

This morning, after one more unsuccessful attempt, I removed the folder “redwing.LSGG” from Packages/Official/OneStore, reopened the sim, and went back to LSGG: as expected, no problem.

The obvious conclusion: this scenery is too dense for my rig. (My specs are below.) This surprised me. Although I have few settings at Ultra, they are mostly “High,” and I have recently had excellent flying, with minimal stuttering, even in very dense photogrammetry like the newly-enhanced Paris scenery. (And I hadn’t had a CTD in months, except when trying to load saved flights – a separate and chronic problem about which I have complained in another thread.)

So, have I wasted 22 bucks? Is there any hope without a new PC (which seems like a remote dream, given the current unavailability of high-end video cards)?

Same issue happened to me with Kelowna which I purchased from Orbx central. CTD. Uninstalled it, no CTD. Some kind of discrepancy in the new update, probably graphics related. I don’t think it’s related to object “density”. Stay tuned!

Well, I installed the mandatory update just before trying the LSGG for the first time. Are you saying that I would have been OK before the update?

If so, what’s the solution? If any.

It could be likely that it worked before the update. I think we can only hope for updates from the scenery developers, I’m sure they will get on it. We aren’t the only ones :slight_smile:

Just for your information Sion (LSGS) is an IGS and not an ILS I leave you to study the RNAV card at Navigraph

Please update your LSGG version to 1.5. With SU7 Asobo has fixed all latencies and CTD.

You can also download the downgrade texture pack if your computer cannot display 4K textures smoothly.

For LSGS, if you use the landing system as an ILS you are wrong…because it is an IGS. A complete procedure video is available on our site.
