I just upgraded from a GTX1080 to a 4080 and thought I could use DLSS, but it in the rotating options for anti-aliasing I still don’t have it available. I do it listed in the description panel on the right though with an explanation of what it does. My drivers are up to date. Nvidia didn’t require a driver update for the upgrade, they are the same, which I’m guessing might have something to do with this problem, but not sure how to fix it. I tried doing a clean reinstall of the drivers and rebooting, it still did not work.
Make sure you’re in game graphics setting is DX12 and not DX11.
With a new GPU you should always install new drivers!!
Please run DDU and perform a clean install of the graphics driver. If you are running DDU because the latest driver is known to cause issues, pick an older driver when you download. Instructions are the same for Nvidia and AMD, but source of driver is of course different. • Nvidia drivers: Download The Latest Official GeForce Drivers • AMD drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support and find your card in the select your product from the list section. • DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller): Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.6.2
1. Download driver from Nvidia/AMD.
2. Download DDU
3. *DISCONNECT YOUR PC FROM THE INTERNET*.
4. Run DDU -> close the other windows that pop up, choose GPU as device and your GPU provider should be automatically selected for you.
5. Click CLEAN AND RESTART.
6. Let computer restart.
7. Install drivers you downloaded in step 1.
8. Reconnect internet again.
9. Restart computer again.
10. Run Simulator.
Welp, I was still using DX11 so I switched it to DX12 and still no DLSS option, however a new option “AMD FSR2” is now there. Very confusing…
Well, you definitely fixed one issue. DLSS should show there for you with Nvidia. Perhaps you should do the suggested driver clean and install above.
You don’t need DX12 for DLSS. You do need DX12 for frame generation though.
I would do a clean install of the nVidia drivers if you aren’t getting the DLSS option.
DLSS isn’t very nice though. It renders at a much lower resolution so small text in the cockpit looks pretty blurry even on the “Quality” setting for DLSS (which is a shame because it doesn’t look too bad other than that, and the performance increase is significant). I would personally stick to TAA for now.
Do you have an Nvidia graphics card or an AMD? If you have an AMD then you get FSR.
Those are both nVidia cards.
very strange to see AMD FSR 2.0. Are you connected with an AMD APU CPU over internal graphics?
I’m wondering if he means AMD FidelityFX Sharpening.
That option is available for Nvidia and AMD GPU’s
I’m using an Nvidia 2070 Super and this is what I see in the graphics options
I believe fsr 2 is available for both nvidia and amd cards and it is under the anti aliasing setting.
