Why do I need an internet connection to Run the MSFS

After spending 6 days downloading the MSFS standard version
It now tells me to
Please insert the MSFS Game disc
This happens when I have no internet (which is a regular event in Africa) ?

Also once loaded if I do not “use” the Simulator it CTD’s

You shouldn’t need an internet connection and the CTD are not normal. You should open a support ticket via Zendesk.
