Why don't they fix the most obvious bugs?

I was taking off. Was about 800ft AGL.

Lol time to take a break mate.

Yes I believe there was, but how is that relevant? The bug existed before and still does.

No,

i see half of them no bugs but subjective feelings, requirements.

People use the sim in different ways and use different planes so there could be millions of issues that all depend on what you do.

Personally i am affected by zero bugs. I use the FBW A320 always and apart from some scenery glitches have never had any issues. Scenery glitches are to be expected and will always be there. The world is too big a place to get perfectly right.

It’s like if rainman played MSFS

This is not a flight simulator (and it never will be)
it’s a nice game to “fly” around with nice graphics,
the only goal is to get your money from the marketplace with hundreds of useless add-ons that don’t even have a minimum of quality check

Agreed.

MSFS has lots of bugs, but most of his list is BS to prove a point.

Because they are investigating the bugs.

I disagree with you here. Let’s say a big event is going to happen on VATSIM. I decide if I’m going to fly it in MSFS, XP or P3D and pretty much what determines what it will be is what I feel like flying and if I have custom (or simply up to date) scenery. If it’s a VFR event and VMC conditions prevail then MSFS is generally a no brainer, I don’t have ortho for the entire US nor does Orbx TrueEarth exist for the entire US. Even for IFR MSFS is a solid choice, especially with the Working Title mods. I’ve done a number of flights where I enter IMC pretty early on and stay in it till I am on the approach. Sometimes I find myself having to go missed.

I look very forward to A2A products in MSFS.

Because they are too busy making new features and WU that keeps the money train moving. That’s why!!

Well, they somehow have to feed their families as well. They’re humans too.

I think the term “useless” depends on one’s own personal preferences. Everyone has different tastes, gotta respect that.

Fixing bugs doesn’t make money. Adding new content does. It’s a sad reality, but a reality nonetheless. There are so many bugs right now that the sim is quite often unflyable.

Every update they say they have “fixed numerous CTDs”. But yet I’m still getting as many CTDs now as I was when I first got the sim. Maybe more. And I know I’m not the only one. So what are they actually fixing? And if we are getting CTDs, at least give us a crash report, so we can at least have some idea as to what’s causing it.

What about the disappearing people on multiplayer? Formation flying and group flights have become impossible. I know of at least 3 formation flying groups that have moved to DCS because their mates keep vanishing. If the product is being marketed as multiplayer friendly, then make it multiplayer friendly. If this was happening in CoD or GTA you’d be accused of cheating. Fix your servers. It’s been going on for over a year now, but got significantly worse when the Xbox release dropped. What I find absolutely hilarious, is that even on MSFS Official fly in streams, we can see people disappearing and the guys never even acknowledge it. Since SU9 we’ve been getting CTDs with memory errors. Where did this suddenly materialise from?

Why can’t I see my friends on the world map? I can see about 4 at most, even when I know for a fact that a large group is online, I only see about 3. And it’s usually always the same 3.

Then there’s the nav issue. We all know about that so I won’t go on about it, but almost 2 years later it’s laughable that GPS mode in ANY aircraft is unreliable.

Live weather. Why can’t weather injection be seamless? 3rd party developers like REX have been nailing live weather simulation for years and years now. Why is Asobo struggling with this? I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been flying along, and the change in weather is so sudden that it actually disconnects my autopilot.

Don’t even get me started with ATC. I stopped using ATC a long time ago. All I can suggest on this issue is that they stop trying to make a working ATC and leave it to the 3rd parties, the guys that actually know what they’re doing.

Random stutters. Ok, I understand that heavy scenery, weather and traffic will degrade performance. But really? To the point where it becomes a slideshow? The phase of any flight where you need good performance is on landing. Every landing I do, is usually a 50/50 chance as to whether or not the sim will start stuttering or not.

And these are just some of the show stoppers. There are so many other visual bugs, that while they don’t stop the show, they are complete immersion breakers, like the horizon line visible through terrain, morphing mountains, photogrammetry not loading etc etc.

And I haven’t even mentioned the Quality of Life requests, that should be very simple to add, such as keybinds to enable/disable name plates and external HUD, flyby and tower cameras etc.

My final thoughts? Stop giving us new content (at least for now). I’m no expert, but I have some experience in software development, and one thing I’ve learned over the years is that adding new content to an unstable platform is only going to make things worse. Fix the sim. Give us a stable platform. This thread proves that people want the same thing. Leave the new content to the 3rd parties (again, at least for now), and give us a near flawless platform that just works.

In Asobo’s defence, it’s a fantastic sim and it has seriously raised the bar in home flight simulation. But it’s such a shame to see it going in the direction it’s going.

There’s a big difference between feeding their families and just making WAY more without having to show for it.

Big difference!!

Something is wrong with that marketing logic. A defective product gets a bad reputation. A bad reputation leads to lower sales. Lower sales leads to a cancellation of the project.

I don’t believe that people here reporting the product defects are doing it to give the product a bad reputation. They are doing it to get the product that they like so much fixed.

So: Fix the product.

Many companies believe that public relations can deal effectively with a defective product. It doesn’t. Real action is the only thing that works.

I fully agree, and it will get to that stage eventually. The fact that the product is still relatively new will keep people believing that the bugs will be fixed. But like you say, it will get a bad reputation and that will ultimately be its downfall

Ah yes I imagine, but it’s a very good summary of what many people think, and live on a daily basis

And as you already said in another thread, no answers from the Devs.
Anyway, I don’t even expect any more answers from them, or if, (we have taken your issue into account and will fix it in a future update)
Yes yes it’s been more than a year that I hear this for the Multiplayer
