Edit plus: The AP often fly a bit of a setoff to the Route:
its heading for the start of the track, which you can correct by deleting the start of the track behind you, so you go Direct to the upcoming waypoint. Some MSFS AP’s are bad at this, some work.

This may also happen if the flight misses a waypoint. In such a scenario using DiIRECT to the next waypoint corrects the flight path.

I don’t remember MSFS inserting waypoints in a (straight) flight plan before SU-5… It’s a new feature.
