I have the Premium Deluxe version of the sim, which I bought at a premium via the Marketplace to add-on to the initial base sim I originally purchased. It was not cheap to do so.
I’m bothered by the apparent abandonware state that some of these aircraft have been placed in.
For example:
I’m trying to fly the Longitude and I’m appalled at the number of glaring issues with this aircraft that make flying it a struggle and I’m trying to understand why it is, after two years of the sim’s life, like this.
Does Ms/Asobo have any plans to address these outstanding issues with these aircraft they supplied?
I get that there are significant issues throughout the sim and that major issues, such as stability and performance are top priority, but surely there has to be more than a couple of engineers assigned to MSFS and, if I can harbor a guess, there are aircraft-specific engineers (maybe even outside developers?) responsible for them.
Outstanding issues on the Longitude:
• Left Battery shows a negative 114 amp draw and fails the checklist requirement of 0 or positive amps
• Both batteries show significant negative draw constantly with generators on
• Tail Flood light is tied to the Recognition lights, so the Tail Flood light switch doesn’t actually function
• Taxi lights turn off instantly after having been turned on (cold and dark issue) — this was supposed to be addressed with SU10, I verified it was not fixed in the very first beta build and, apparently, that was that — bug abandoned, kick the can to some future SU
• TO/GA button and/or keybinding turns off Alt Hold(!)
• Alt Hold severely broken — dialing in an altitude does nothing, the aircraft will climb (or descend) to whatever altitude the aircraft was at when the Alt button was pressed. That means if you’re on the ground and setting up AP for your initial alt, then engaging AP will cause the aircraft to descend to airfield altitude. The only way to get any sort of Alt Hold is to turn off with the TO/GA button, climb/descend to desired altitude, press Alt to maintain that altitude
• Turning off Alt hold (again, with the TO/GA button) clears the hold, but the AP is still in control of the elevator trim, which makes trying to ascend/descend manually a major fight as the AP is trying to adjust the elevator trim to return the aircraft to whatever altitude it thinks it was programmed to maintain. You have to fully disengage AP to have any reasonable control over pitch.
• The PFD range knob controls the MFD map
• The Baro keybind adjusts the standby instrument and not the baro as displayed in the PFD
I’m sure there are others, but I grew tired of trying to fight this thing and flew into the ground.
Naturally, I’m going to pose the above questions and receive no answer as to what the intentions are for these abandoned premium deluxe aircraft.
And before I get the “3rd party mod” answers from the community, A, I mainly fly on Xbox, which is a no-go for mods and B. When I buy MS Word, I don’t have to rely on a 3rd party to implement and fix the base features featured in the software. Cut, copy paste, section breaks, page numbering, formatting, etc., etc., etc. function as they are meant to. That same base standard should be applied to this product, as well.
