Wimaxit M1012 touchscreen help. (Windows 11)

I haven’t gotten to the point where I can determine whether this monitor will work with FS2024.
For now I’m trying to get it to work with Windows 11. I have an email support request into the manufacturer, but haven’t gotten a response. I’m hoping someone might have some advice before I return the monitor.

Here’s email I sent:

I bought a Wimaxit M1012 touchscreen monitor. It’s “designed for Raspberry Pi” but claims to have 'Windows 7/8/10 compatibility. I’m running Win11 23H2 and was hoping it would work. I connected it via HDMI and the ‘Touch+Power’ USB connector connected to a powered USB hub. The monitor is recognized in ‘Display Settings’ as a Generic Wimaxit Monitor, and uses the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\monitor.sys driver.

When I open ‘PC Tablet Setup’ it tells me the monitor does not have touch capability. But when asked to ID the touch monitor I tap on it and it seems to be recognized. But I can’t access the calibration tool.

I don’t see ‘Touch Device’ in the HID section of Device Manager.
I was hoping for a vendor Win11 driver, but unfortunately, wimaxit.com appears to be a dead end.

I first tried without any additional software, and there was no touch function at all. I noticed it’s a DisplayLink device, so I downloaded the DisplayLink Win11 software installer. That gave me some touch functionality, but it’s not correct. For example, when I touch ‘File Explorer’ on the taskbar it opens Paint.

Solved on Experts-Exchange.
I had two problems:

  1. The DataLink software was interfering with the touch function. I’d installed it with Revo, so I uninstalled it with Revo.

  2. I plugged the Touch/Power USB connector into a USB port, not the hub it was originally plugged into.

Touchscreen is working properly now.

I just moved to an upgraded computer when installing FS 2024 in addition to 2020, and the Wimaxit touch function stopped working after connecting it to the new computer, although the monitor still works perfectly.

The USB power cable was attached to a USB-C port on the PC that is only 10 GB/sec, but does supply 30W of power so that it’s can be used for charging. The The Amazon Wimaxit page instructions for setting up touch state that “Touchscreen function is only enabled when connecting to your device via USB-C as the HDMI connection does not output touch signal.” That did not make sense to me at first, as it has always been connected via both HDMI and USB-C and worked great for 5 years, but it did prompt me to connect it to a different USB-C port on the PC, one that has DP Alt. Mode. Voilà, the touchscreen setup then worked perfectly. The only way I can explain this is to think that the 30-watt USB-C port is ONLY for charging and does not carry data. I thought I’d post it in case anyone else had trouble with touch setup on this device
