The issue isn’t about debating whether or not there are turbulence during a flight…
Yes, there are turbulence when you fly;
Yes, there is wind when you fly;
Yes, there are turbulence over mountains.
The real issue lies in how the plane reacts to those turbulence…
A Cessna 172 Skyhawk still weighs 744 kg when empty…
In the simulator, it feels like you’re flying on a sheet of paper, or even a magic carpet

I’ve found a partial workaround(EDIT: I may have been a bit optimistic here):
Plane: C172
At career mission planning, go into the EFB while planning, find a better date for your flight. It may depend on your location. I’m experimenting with June (and July now) dates as it seems calmer, at least here when near Oslo. Some dates+airfield combinations are NOT as crazy with turbulence as I experience with the ‘live date’ for the past two days.
EDIT1: Not all date-shifted flights are smooth.
3 fine flights, 1 partial turbulence, 1 a bit rough. 1 terrible.
Edit2: Hm, the flight was suddenly set in June 6 2023 when I selected July 6 2024. (This could be a US to European date-order or separator problem (common issue in software), so I’m not paying too much attention to this).
However, back in the HQ I brought up the EFB while sitting in the sofa and the date is April 29 2024 for some strange reason. I’m confused.
Unfortunately - last flight was Terrible though, really terrible turbulence. We where tossed around like a cat in washing-machine.
EDIT3: I tried to set the date to June 1 2010. It did register my input, but my EFB inflight showed July 6 2024 again. So I’m not sure if we actually we shift the date when it’s too far in the past.
Flight was silk-smooth though.
Does it work? I tried changing stuff in EFB and only thing that works is the flight planner. Flight details does nothing to me. Changing the Registration, flight rules, time and date - nothing.
HOW can I change to and file an IFR flight plan, please?
EDIT: Confirmed EFB in VR (Valve Index) works for me, I can click when it’s in the wall mount in the cockpit, I can also TAB it into focus but then it becomes unclickable (focus issue).
Dateshift appears to work (still experimenting), but perhaps not to the date we expect. I’ve updated my previous post a bit.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
You can check the crosswind component of the runway you takeoff from when clicking on the airports info in the efb before a mission. Then gonto runways. You cdn also do this for the landing airport. The maximum demonstrated crosswind component is 15 kts of a cessna 172. Check this before you fly. If you plan a flight in rral life, this is part of your flight planning.

Insane cross/tail winds after unlocking the live weather aspect of the career mode. Was fine until then.
Nearly impossible to play it’s so bad, I can barely even take off in the 172 half the time. I have to last second abort the mission to avoid crashing.
20-30 kt crosswinds at all times.
Now that there is a cost penalty involved in this including peoples time, this needs to be addressed asap. Ruining a 50 hour career from a wind bug is not the same as crashing someone’s plane in free flight.
