Wind Picked up plane on load

This is a first. I loaded up a new flight at PHPA. i noticed all of the trees bending over and waves were huge. i’ve never seen this before. as soon as i clicked FLY, the plane just lifted into the air and started flying away on the wind.

this ever happened to anyone?

METAR 13 miles away says the wind is breezy but totally fine. what is happenening

Yes, happened to me 3 times now. I managed to start a Cessna mid air after getting launched. Weather is seriously messed up. Trees were blowing like man and windsock was limp.

Agreed, Altitude 2000 feet just outside of Abilene,Texas, the Baron started bucking violently, checked wind speed and direction. Flying into a headwind with wind speed 110 knots, brought the aircraft down. Really?? C’mon, it can be breezy in Texas, but not THAT breezy. Between CTD’s and stupid crazy winds, it’s getting hard to stay with the sim…

I’ve flown in hurricanes and it wasn’t that bad! Have live weather off now. Trying to kill some time until the Artemis 1 launch tonight.

Yes, same thing happened to me. Flew in Australia, suddenly the wind topped 100kn!

I’m in Florida, so debating to watch outside or stay inside. If I didn’t have to work tomorrow I’d drive up closer.

Moved to #self-service:weather

I haven’t flown the Cessna 152 in ages but I just took it out for a short flight and it handled amazing. The weather was calm.

As I was about to put the parking brake on the airplane jumped off the ground up to about 20 - 30 feet. Then we flipped over and crashed.

I’ve got close to 400 hours and I’ve never seen that happen before! Could this be a weather bug? Winds were only a 2-3 knots.

Could be something random like a mesh under the aircraft which thought to load, some invisible gap in the terrain mesh or wind which did not load before popping in. Many possibilities, no clear answers as long as it just occurred once in 400h

I think something is seriously messed up with live weather at the moment.

I just tried Longreach next in Australia. The trees were blowing around like mad, the windsocks were still and ground handling suggested calm wind. No metar available.

Then when I got over 500 feet I hit what seemed like 300 knot winds and flipped over violently.

The other airport this happened was in Hawaii. The second time I went back the airplane lifted off the ground from the start. I was able to start it from cold dark while airborne, lol. It eventually spun and ended with a stressed aircraft.

There are other reports too. It seems world wide.

Real-world weather has been a little crazy tonight. I noticed it in a few places around the world in the sim this evening. One location in the US had surface winds at 342 knots.

One location I was in had calm winds. Then I had a violet flip that ended in a stern message I overstressed my airplane. So it can come on fast!

I’d love to know what’s going on right now on the cloud services side! Software update gone bad, bad data feed, Metric/Imperial conversion issues, hackers, etc.?

Live weather is definitely a mess at the moment, I had snow storms all over california

I was in the Black Square King Air, and suddenly on final, huge crosswind. KSAN ATIS said winds >100kts. I turned into the wind and at one point I was literally flying backwards.

Anyone else see this?

P.S. I hope everyone in the San Diego area is ok

On final to KPHX about 6:30 PST

There are some bugs open for that, reporting incorrect and unrealistic strong winds:
