Wind simulation

I have a question about the weather (wind) in Little Navmap.

In the simulator and on Little Navmap 34 kts wind was displayed for Lynchburg (Virginia). However, in RL it had only 6-8 kts wind at that time (Windy.com).

Am I doing something wrong? How to sync wind data?

Thanks guys.

Within a few miles of airports, MSFS uses the weather provided by the METAR weather report, which will be a real-world measured data point from some minutes in the past. Outside of those areas, it’ll use weather simulation from Meteoblue, which may or may not match any other simulation.

Also keep in mind that weather at altitude may differ from weather on the ground.

Displayed wind speeds also depend on your altitude. If the LNM wind readout says 34 kts and you’re at 10,000 feet, then I would expect it to be different from that website, which I assume are surface level winds.

Thanks for feedback, folks!

(I flew in 4.500 ft.)
