If there is anything about MSFS24 that bothers you, or you think you have found a bug, or you have a request/suggestion for improvement, please open a corresponding post. This is solely about wind turbines. Thank you for your understanding!
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• The “Guishan Offshore Wind Farm” was the only one I could find so far that has no vegetation. See the last picture.

Hello @PuffinFlight ![]()
After a while, I just wanted to politely ask if there’s been any progress on this issue.
I just loaded my project to see if the vegetation around the wind turbine could now be excluded. But I realized that it still doesn’t work, regardless of whether I use a polygon or a rectangle for exclusion.
Is there a “trick” I need to use?
Wind turbines in the middle of the sea have bushes at the base
two wind turbines near 58°6’55.0"N 003°5’9.5"W have bushes at the base.
I have seen it on other locations as well, the basic object needs to be without the bushes at the base.
What do you guy’s think? I had a test-flight today with SU2 running. The exclusion is working now. No problems anymore. Can you prrof that as well?
Yes, I can confirm that. The vegetation foundations can be removed with an exclusion rectangle:
Windfarm Butendiek before…
Windfarm Butendiek afterward ..
However, the option to remove vegetation with a polygon still doesn’t work. So you have to use exclusion rectangles over large areas, which can easily be described as a messy way of working.
Hi, i’m seeing trees at the base of the wind turbinmes in the north sea. Is there a fix for it yet? I see talk about exclusion rectangles etc, how is it possible for me to place exclusion rectangles?
You can’t. It’s already been fixed by the first-party developer as I remember, but Asobo have still not implemented it into a build!
I guess it’s item 17,936 on their list ![]()
What you wrote is wrong, it works ![]()
Me? Oh you mean for that location you could… right, yes, I guess you could. I was thinking “globally” … ![]()
That’s right, the wind turbines and the “vegetation foundation” can be excluded.
You need to be in Developer mode and create a project to create exclusion rectangles. You can find detailed instructions on the FSDeveloper.com forum.
