Windows 11 22H2 update - do not install yet

I have the latest Windows 11 updates (22H2), with nVidia 517 GRD, and all good so far.

Yes, I just got the cumulative update (389) right now. That should fix the original performance issues.

Cheers

I Had this issue yesterday no issues and great performance in 2D and on my G2. I then updated to Win11 22h2 and it all went bad stutters in VR & 2D MSFS was unusuable. I tried all the fixes mentioned here and other places no joy! This morning I rolled back to my Win 21H2 build and everything is working as it was excellent. Not sure whats going on the cause is obvious, my third bad update this year

The cumulative update didn’t solve it for me today. I had to still turn off HolographicShell to get my frame rate back to normal.

I have the same problem. 22H2 completely ruined my FPS. I have the latest GeForce Experience and the latest Game Ready Driver. Still no joy. How do I turn off the HolographicShell?

I have win 11 and 22H2 running without prolems.
But that is with an AMD system. :grinning:

Assuming you have Win 11: Type “Graphics” into your search bar. Select Graphic Settings, then select Change Deafult Graphics Settings. You’ll see the toggle for HAGS there.

Holographicshell, and HAGS are different things, as far as I know. The former is to do with mixed reality I believe.

But it’s possible some users can fix the issue by disabling HAGS. Or leave HAGS on but disable the Holographicshell service.

You’re right, HolographicShell only apply to WMR headset.

I already have HAGS off. But I can’t figure out how to disable the holographicShell

Thanks! I just ended up reverting to the previous windows version and the fps are back up to normal. I also selected to pause windows updating for the next 6 weeks, so I hope microsoft will have sorted this problem out by then (if not I will delay updating further) Just sad how such a bug can make it through microsoft’s QA:(

So whats up now?
Today I get the question for 22H2 update.

Are the Problems fixed now nor not?

Installed the update and now have problems with the engine management screens missing fuel amount and Ng/ITT etc on the Carenado PC 12. Have flown it for about 20 hours before the update with no problems.

Time for a look on the forums for the answer

Can’t give you a definitive answer to that but I’ve been running 22H2 on Windows 11 for a fair while as I’m on the Windows insider Beta builds.

Never had any problems at all unless I tried to bring up the Nvidia Overlay, but that was fixed a while back with a new version of Geforce Experience.

Installed 2 days ago. No issues. Note that I have the Nvidia Overlay disabled

This warning came too late for me or I should have checked the forum first.
Installed Windows 11 Update 22H2 today. No more chance to fly in VR. Tried everything, latest Nvidia driver, GFE
no chance. It’s a stutter festival. I can’t even fly the Cessna 172 in VR when the sky is clear. It’s frustrating after SU10 went so well. I’ll wait until the problem is solved and sit in the ZIBO until then

I have a very midrange almost 4 yr old i5-9500/32GB/3060Ti. Just upgraded to 2H22, and my reported frame rates through the roof (using Xbox Gaming bar).

Before 2H22:
Generally 35-50, low 20s in dense scenery

After 2H22:

100

So I thought Xbox was reporting incorrectly, so I started the EVGA Precision utility, and immediately frame rates at 27,000 AGL dropped from > 100 to under 10, and I got the attached overheating message.
