Also been using Win 11 since the first release and have been mostly very pleased with it. I’m currently using version 21H2.
I had no problems with MSFS + Win 11 until I tried the release preview of the forthcoming update, 22h2. This significantly changes CPU and GPU usage on my pc, and re-introduced stutters which I couldn’t resolve with game settings, so I reverted to 21H2.
Hopefully when the official update is released these issues will have been cleared up.
Yes it seems people are in two categories, early adopters or people like me waiting with Win 10.
I guess its hard to say whether Win 11 is better than 10 if you went in early as the question is more than is it stable and working as opposed to is it better?
It seems not many people converted of late to see if its better or worse or the same in Win 11.
I really don’t want to upgrade unless its an advantage I guess.
I’ve been calling Windows 11 “Windows 10 with sprinkles.” Other than some changes to the GUI, there is very little noticeable difference to the end user. There may be things going on “under the hood” but I’ve had no issues at all since the upgrade, even in VR.
Two IT guys I know both poke fun at me for “new and shiny” and both are pretty die-hard about sticking with Win10. With them I think it’s more of the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it mentality” than anything else. When I pointedly ask why they dislike Win11 I get lots of shoulder shrugs and nebulous answers.
TLDR: Win11 works great with MSFS, in my experience.
I’ve been using Windows 11 since it released. As part of a diagnostic process, I have been sticking to a static sim configuration, not introducing any major addons etc. I haven’t had a single CTD in about 100 hours of flight time, significantly more than that when you include taxi, and other ground activities.
