What version is your Windows. 23H2 or 24H2? You can always delete WMR.

Windows Version: 23H2

It’s a recent windows update that has done this, you need to do a system restore to around the 2-3-2025 & make sure to turn off any auto updates. I also recommend that once you get WMR up & running again make your own system restore point, mines called (WMR stable). I have had to restore my system 4x over the past week, I seem to have the update thing at bay now, 2 days & counting.

Microsoft have screwed us over again with ther win 10 update KB5052077 rendering WMP so a lot of people have had there headsets effectivly bricked because of ■■■■■■■ microsoft, a lot of people including me have invested a lot opf money for headsets, top spec rigs just to have the rug pulled from underneeth them by lowlife boffins at microsoft

some people like my self dont have a restore point on there system because microsoft failed to warn the user that installing the update would ■■■■ there VR headsets up, the only solotion for me now is to purchase another HD and find a predated copy of window 10 and hope for the best that it works and install flightsim on that and deable all updates
THANK YOU MICROSOFT YOU TOSS POTS
I wont be investing in msfs25 if this is the dirty tricks they play

Sorry, but how do you remove updates etc as I am not that tecnical minded?
Is your date 3rd February 2025 or 2nd March 2025?

Your system automatically creates restore points, about 3 at various points usually up until a few days back, maybe even 10. If you do get it back, make sure to disable all updates for windows & create your own restore point.
I’m with you, no warning or anything from microsoft. We all knew that windows 11 was going to brick WMR headsets hence why I stayed on Win10. One day everything was working then BAM…

if you didn’t hear that wmr is becoming obsolete with newest update you must be living under a rock
I’m also rocking HP reverb g2 and I’ve been hearing about this for over a year or more. Not a problem for me: I’m using good old reliable win10.
My suggestions to you are: reinstall win11 and don’t update, reinstall win10 and don’t upgrade, dual system installation where you have a dedicated OS just for VR.

That is what I have done over the weekend, missed all the lovely sunshine to sort it out
I purchased a new 2tb m2 nvme drive and dual booted a dedicated drive for VR installed win10 stopped all auto updates
still fuming at microsoft because of the way they done the dirty this was not supposed to happen until Oct 25
how i see it
microsoft are trying to get everyone on to win 11 but with no vr of that system people are reluctant to move over so the big wigs at microsoft slapped there hand on the table and said cut the chord on win 10 NOW so people will have no excuse to stop with win 10 anymore
that is how sneeky and underhanded they done it and not even a warning on the update last week say you will lose vr with the latest update

Windows 11 24h2 eliminated WMR and since your G2 needs it to operate, your G2 like mine is now an expensive paper wieght. Microsoft screwed us again!
