Hi all
I recently replaced my thrustmaster TCA side stick with the winwing URSA minor airline joystick.
The problem I have is that the rudder (Z AXIS) is interfering with y and x axis, this was one of the reasons I ditched the thrustmaster!
Every time a pitch up or role left or right, there are rudder movements.
To correct this I’m having to put at least 20% dead zone on the z axis, which in turn is not ideal.
Has anybody else with this joystick experienced this? A known issue?
Thanks
maybe it would be useful if someone could make a video of his settings. Preferably from XBox please, not pc.
Hi
Yes. The issue is there for me too.
But it manly happens on the Y axis and only when I go to the extremes.
With small or medium inputs its pratically negligable for me.
I have about 5% deadzone setting for the Z axis.
Hello,
Section 2.2 of the user manual states that the Z axis can be locked by using a hex wrench and tightening a screw. Hope that helps.
If you are not adding any input to the Z axis as you pitch and roll, it should not move the rudder at the same time as ailerons & elevators.
The Ursa Minor uses what appears to be a direct copy of the gimbal from the VKB Gladiator, which in it’s original home is a precise and very well engineered bit of kit that would not have such glaring problems.
Having to use a 20% deadzone and lose all of that useful control range suggests that something is very wrong. It may be that the implementation of the gimbal is not as good in the WW copied version, or that your specific stick has a manufacturing issue.
If you can’t resolve it by calibrating the controller, I’d suggest returning and exchanging the stick if you still can.

I have the Winwing joystick and don’t have any problems with the Z axis.
Thanks everyone
Will get onto winwing again, they even said to me via their chat to put a 20% dead zone on!
Yes tried calibrating a few times, same result.
