With my new CPU (intel i9-12900k) my "computer does not meet the minimum requirement" !?!

I had an i5-9900k CPU and an asus Rog Strix z390 E-Gaming motherboard which gave me “MEDIUM/HIGH” performance that I changed to a PRIME Z690-P WIFI D4 motherboard (which accepts the i9-12900k CPU ) and since then, I get this message when opening the game: “my computer does not meet the minimum requirement”. Even with ALL my settings at “LOW”, my i9-12900k is still at 95%+!!! What is the problem? Windows 10 pro/Steam and MSFS2020 are up to date, same 120mb/sec bandwidth… What did I miss? Help me please.

Going to need more information.

What is your full system specs for starters.

did you maybe use the onboard graphics ?

Can I send a screenshot of my spec on this forum?

Have you tried resetting your bios settings?

12900K has 16 cores, but your log only shows 3…

Looks like either something is deactivated or your CPU is faulty…

Thanks. I will send your post to my technician

You haven’t inadvertently plugged your hdmi cable in to the motherboard hdmi connector instead of your graphics card have you?

At least it’s proof that Flight Simulator isn’t single-threaded, even if it can feel like it at times…

Hopefully the attached link will help:

The tick box numbers of cpu core should be UNTICKED

Kind regards

Thanks. Yes, it was set to 6 cores (for a maximum of 6).

I was having the same problem with my computer. Reinstalling FS 2020, updating graphic drivers didn’t help. Finally, this weekend, I did a repair install of Windows 10. BINGO! No more “Your computer does not meet minimum requirements.”

Your CPU should be fine. A couple of things to try.

Go into your computer’s BIOS and load optimal settings, save and reboot. This may fix the incorrect number of cores being detected by windows. Post up a screenshot of Windows Task Manager performance view once you’ve done this so that we can see that all your cores are being seen. eg.

Find where MSFS’s UserOpt.cfg file is located and delete it. For the Steam version of MSFS it is located in C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator. MSFS will recreate this file when you next restart it. Just be aware that all your MSFS settings will go back to default, so take note of any specific settings before you delete this file so you can restore them later.

The Fenix app is most likely confused by the switch over from iGPU to graphics card, so it is probably best to uninstall and reinstall this app to recalibrate what GPUs it can see.

Hi ResetXPDR. I can’t remember exactly what i did but now, I can see all my 16 cores. I ajusted the graphic settings in the game to run my gtx1660ti at about 75-80% and my 12900k is running below 15%. Next step, an RTX 40xx, but this is another budget! Thanks Again !!!
