Working Title 747-8i

So I’ve often gone on and on about how the 747 is unflyable on Xbox series X due to how badly it stutters. But yesterday I did a couple of short flights in it and it was fine. I found this strange so decided to do an overnight Heathrow to Hong Kong to give it a proper test and after loading the flight plan and setting up, I couldn’t even taxi for how badly it was stuttering

This then got me thinking. It was fine Heathrow to Munich and back. So I looked at my flight plan on simbrief and noticed that it had over 100 waypoints excluding the SIDs and STARs. Went through it deleting all of the airways and then deleting any waypoints that it basically flew through anyway. From the original 111 waypoints, I got it down to 5.

Loaded back in and tried again. Lo and behold, not a stutter to be seen! It still stutters a little when it’s dark but during daytime it’s perfect. Really wouldn’t have thought that the number of waypoints would be an issue but I guess it is. Hadn’t picked up on this before as I only ever flew the 747 if the flight that I wanted to do exceeded the range of other aircraft in my hanger

So I’m pretty happy with that

TL;DR - don’t use waypoints on a long flight in the 747

I’ve found the same issue aswell with both the default 747 & 787 where a high number of waypoints from simbrief flight plan causes bad stutters.
