Quick q: how do you get the FMS to fill in the correct alttiudes before the approach? I’ve entered FL280 as the cruise altitude, and a departure and arrival, however the FMS won’t fill in the correct alttiudes before the approach.
Thanks for any tips
Type a “/280” on the right side line select key to which you want it to apply. This will fill in 28,000 as the altitude.
If you want a speed and altitude then you can enter “.74/280” in the right side line select key to which you want it to apply.
If you fill out more of the PERF section with cruise altitude and arrivals and departures then a lot of this will prefill based on your PERF selections.
Happy flying.
hi thanks for your response.
so that’s where the confusion is coming from as i have completely filled out the perf, departuer, and arrival. however none of the course altitudes have been filled in. my T.O.D. is working though so I know the descent is programmed correctly.
not sure whats up
This is the default behavior of the CJ4. Your cruising altitude never shows on the LEGS page because it is no constraint in the strict sense. You will have noticed, that all constraints in SIDs, STARS, and approaches are filled in correctly though.
