@SinfulDanTheMan IRL, an aircraft will not automatically start descent at TOD. This could lead to an altitude conflict with other traffic. At TOD, the descent is initiated by the crew and then VNAV is selected to manage the descent rate etc. IMO the best way would to set the new altitude in the window & start the descent using VS mode. Then select VNAV & this should manage the descent rate to the selected altitude.
Hi,
Apologies in advance if I’m in the wrong thread here.
My TBM930 wwith G3000 cockpit has an issue with the navigation map. I thought it should be a ‘moving map’, but the aircraft icon does not move at all during flight.
Am I doing something wrong here, or is it a glitch in the G3000?
I had that prob once. Try delete the WT folder inside your community folder, then get a new fresh copy in there and start the sim.
At least to me it worked. The map went back to normal.
are you 100% sure this is how it works? because I’ve used the G1000 in XP for years and if you select VNAV a minute before TOD and have lowered your ALT bug, the AP will automatically begin descent at TOD.
But as we’ve seen here this isn’t implented in this version on MSFS
Thanks for that, Bug.
Did as you said, and now back to normal.
Cheers
Anytime! Have a great flight
I am having the same problem. There are others having it as well. Please make sure you open ticket at the Zen desk. The more that complain about the issue, the better chance it will be addressed. It started with the hot fix right after WU5 update.
Donws1957,
Thanks for that…I have just completed a report to Zendesk, so hope that helps others.
Bug7911 (above) told me to reinstall WT, which I did, and seems to fix the issue. The question I have is, my version of this WT is 4.7…I thought I read somewhere where there is a version 4.7a, but it didn’t think it applied to the TBM930.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
The WT G3000 7.4a is a opensource freeware community mod. Zendesk will have nothing to do with it.
You find the latest 7.4a version on their GitHub or I believe the web page link automatically gets you the 7.4a.
As to your problem. Most likely an older version and or a conflict with existing other installs (G1000Nxi or liveries or other aircraft).
This has been an ongoing problem since the last couple of updates. I can’t understand why this hasn’t been fixed or at least addressed as an issue by Working Title [Garmin 3000 v.7.4]. For me it renders a potentially great mod useless…the moving nav map is critical for its functionality.
As a result of the nav map spontaneously freezing I use the sim default.
I had the same issue, but I read in another forum, that some liveries might cause this problem.
So I kicked out all liveries, even the ones in the content manager (which I never ever used), and restarted the sim again. By the way, this liveries take a lot of space, more than 1 Gb.
And suddenly, the moving map worked again.
I have only 3 mods installed, the dakfly !ongitude mod, the TBM mod and the WT3000. Good luck!
No bubble burst here
Reinstalling WT continues to give me the results I need…hopefully it continues.
Incidently, I can find no record of WT v0.7.4a on either Github site or WT’s main site. I had an idea that this particular version once appeared on the Github site, to be used for the CJ4 only.
But I may be mistaken.
If you use GitHub you need to go to the tab Tags to find the 7.4.a.
But again, I am presuming that the WT webpage links the 7.4a although it is not stated explicitly.
Understood.
Thanks for the heads-up
Just an update, if I may. My first little glitch was the navigation map. Now, after several reboots, and using Honeycomb A and B, my VS is inoperable, Nav button doesn’t work, VS is also cactus, frame rates have dropped considerably with associated stutters, and just prior to takeoff, ground traffic (cars, busses etc) all travel with great speed. The only thing faster is my TBM, which accelerates faster than any jet known to man.
The only ‘change’ I’ve made is to delete my WT file, and replace it with a ‘fresh’ copy. Another reinstall of MSFS sounds like the way to go…becoming a habit., though.
Incidentally, the link below shows access to WT 7.4a zip file, bu it appears to be a ‘Packages’ file of rather large proportions. I wouldn’t like to touch it, though.
Cheers
That link is the one I was referring to. You see the 7.4a. Click on download. Unzip it and paste the resulting sub folder in your community folder.
Sth seems to be corrupted in your install if you are seeing these errors. I am confused when you say you replaced a WT file - this is not how this works.
Post a screenshot of your content manger showing the WT installs and the community folder. It is easier that way as to second guess the cause of your troubles.
Alternatively go to the WT discord. There you probably get even quicker and better help than I can offer.
Why would you want to use g3000 version 7.4a to fix the freezing nav map…this is an older Alpha version, not even up to Beta, while there is an actual release version 7.4 out?
I’ve tried deleting the liveries when I first encountered the issue I think after SU5, but it didn’t help…I’ll try it again…did you delete direct from the folder or the sim market place?
I’ve seen posts about the map freeze going back to last year. I’ve tried looking for a way to contact direct with the WT team but they are not allowing for that.
HI,
Thanks for your help.
When I downloaded the 7.4a zip file, then unzipped it, it is nothing like the original workingtitle-G3000 file. It contains 19 folders/files…compared to the 7.4 zip file which, when unzipped, shows the folder workingtitle-g3000. It is this file I place in my ‘OneStore’ folder ( in my case, this folder is used, and not the ‘Community’ folder). It contains 6 folders/files only.
The only reason I have deleted the installed WT-G3000 file folder, and replaced it with a ‘clean’ install, is in the chance my installed file somehow got corrupted.
My MSFS ‘Content Manager’ does not show this transaction, as the file is placed directly into my ‘OneStore’ folder using Windows Explorer and is not installed within the MSFS program.
It sounds all too complicated, and my apologies if this doesn’t make sense.
Cheers
Not OneStore but Community folder.
The content manager shows before install if you have any possible conflicts.
Hi, Fitness,
The reason for looking at the 7.4a version was that it sounded like it might be a newer version, with a possible update for something. I guess I could have noted the dates of each release to identify which was the latest. My bad.
I don’t quite understand the installation issue. I was under the impression that all I had to do was to extract the necessary file…workingtitle-G3000… and place it in my ‘OneStore’ folder ( see above post). By doing that, I don’t see any reference to it in my MSFS Content Manager…should I?
I must be missing something.
