World Hub updates and airport add-ons

Need some help here with some apparently messed up scenery. I had a nice freeware KMDW add-on installed since the stock airport was pretty lame. However, this add-on has apparently been abandoned and has not been updated to reflect the closure of 13L/31R. But then I discovered that a fairly recent World Hub update addressed this, so I uninstalled this add-on so it wouldn’t override the WH update.

But now, my KMDW looks like this in the sim and in LittleNavMap, despite a library update in LNM.

This is obviously not correct. I have 3 instances of 13L in the sim, and 31R is still there in both places. But also 13C/31C is apparently gone in the sim? For reference, this is what the current chart shows.

Runways should be:

  • 4L/22R
  • 4R/22L
  • 13R/31L
  • 13C/31C
and 13L/31R should now be taxiway H.

I have tried removing the Drzewiecki Design Chicago Landmarks as well, but that didn’t make any difference. I also cleared %appdata%\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\SceneryIndexes to rebuild that folder, but that didn’t do anything either.

As I am writing this, I already (begrudgingly) did a Steam verify, so all the updates and content are re-downloading and installing, so I don’t think I can do much else at this point but rebuild it all. But what could have caused this piece of scenery to get so screwed up, despite all relevant add-ons being removed? I’m really stumped.

I found an “AFCAD update” file (from flightsim.to user b757) to be the cause of the erroneous rwy 13L. I deleted this folder and all was OK.

Holy smokes, I didn’t think of that. I have that add-on also. I’ll give that a shot. I should be able to delete KMDW from that add-on rather than delete the whole thing. If that works, I’ll leave the dev a comment. He seems to still be on top of this add-on so hopefully this can be updated.

Makes me kind of wish there was a quick way for the sim to indicate that an aircraft or airport had an add-on modifying it for troubleshooting purposes.

There does need to be some sort of indication of base airport history (including updates of aerials, world hub, world updates, etc) and any active add-ons that are impacting it. Fully agree.

Right? Like an asterisk or something. They already have different world map icons on airports that have Marketplace options, why not something similar for installed add-ons, whether from the Marketplace or external?

The “Data Sources” section of the Information / Airport / Overview tab in Little Navmap might be helpful in cases like this.
