Since at least World Update 3 when selecting an airport from the world map, the wind is always the same (KMIA 330 degrees at 9 knots), not matching real world weather or ATIS. As well, the active runways are also wrong for the real world wind. When ATIS and real world weather wind is strong out of the E/SE, the sim/ATC is reflecting the active is RWY 27. Anyone else having the same issue in the area they typically fly??
Same situation here. The world map seldom shows accurate wind speed and direction at any airport, however when the sim loads the winds are usually correct. unfortunately it seems atc uses what is displayed on the world map for runway selection and as such most often atc will tell you to taxi to the wrong runway for takeoff. most annoying and has been a problem since the sim came out.
My big question is what direction is the wind really blowing and what runway should I use?
When I select a departure Airport, The wind shows (in this example) 112 degrees @ 6 kts.
My understanding is the wind is blowing toward 112 degrees at 6 kts.
AND: The automatic runway selected is close to the same heading such that the windsock is blowing, at my tail. In this case, Runway 9.
We should takeoff into-the-wind. Here, the default Runway should be 32. That is the most into-the-wind runway at this field.
