• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Followed the OP’s Reproduction steps. Clicking Zoom to Details results in a quick zoom out, then zoom in to the same altitude as before (i.e. no change).

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Same as OP - It would also be helpful if POIs showed up without zooming quite so close. Planning a trip to include selected POIs with current POI zoom is not easy. You cannot see the entire route (even if short) to be able to include POIs

Description of the issue:
When you select “Free Flight” and enter a departure airport, such as LSZA, the program moves you to the map view of that airport, but the zoom level is too far out. This makes it impossible to see and select parking spots directly with the mouse without first zooming in manually.

Additionally, the airport description is placed right in the center of the screen, obstructing the view of parking spots.

It’s hard to imagine that no one from the development team finds this cumbersome during their testing. It’s obvious that the default zoom level should be set to show the parking spots on the airport apron for easy selection. Furthermore, the airport information box could be placed elsewhere to avoid covering these critical areas.

Lastly, the METAR field, which was available in MSFS 2020, has been removed. This is a feature that would be incredibly useful and could easily be added back to the interface, for example, on the right-hand side of the screen.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• As described, ‘Zoom to Details’ only zooms so far, and then I have to manually zoom to see runways and parking spots. It wasn’t like this in FS2020, and should not be like this in FS2024.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Zoom to details should zoom to .8 NM to show airport details and parking spots etc.
POIs should show up at 2 NM zoom to allow planning of flights to include POIs

Developer Mode On

Yes, Vanilla mode

Brief description of the issue:

Sometimes (75% plus) when I setup a flight at an airport and zoom, the airport is usually stuck in the top center (centered on the top edge of the screen) and sometimes very far away, and I have to zoom out, find it and zoom in, to find/select the runway or parking spot I need. Its never done this before. Usually it zooms into the airport perfectly. Random airports mostly around USA and Canada.

Also… When posting this bug, I noted I couldnt post this for PC, only for Steam, XBox, MS Store and something else unrelated. When clicking XBox which I dont have, it allowed me then to pick PC. I am on a PC, not XBox. Just a heads up. Might be a bug in this interface also here are the forums when entering bugs.

I use XBox X but the problem is the same.

On Map Asobo needs to zoom into .8NM for airport details to show. The information box should be offset from the airport for the airport to actually show.

While we are talking about zoom levels…it would be good if POIs showed up at zoom level 2 NM to allow them to be easily included in flight plan.
