World Tour - but I'm finally able to see stuff properly!

Hello fellow pilots,

so I struggled a lot during the last years without knowing the reason for it. Turned out - I have horrible eyesight and nobody ever told me. Finally I have proper glasses and finally I can see stuff - irl and in the sim. So I thought - how about another world tour attempt but without the constant eyestrain and screen exhaustion? So here it is - finally a relaxing flight sim experience! Please enjoy

001: US1 - Montauk to East Quogue

Truth be told - I only choose to start in the US because it was 7:30am over there and I wanted to listen to a morning show while flying. So I took a prominent point on the world map (aka Long Island) and went on with it. I was not disappointed!

First sight I saw was Montauk Station between Fort Pond Bay and Fort Pond itself. Can you imagine how my mind was blown when I could distinguish individual trees down below?

Most of this (short) first trip was spent flying south along the coastline, taking in the scenery, like here at Amagansett! Just so pretty!

FYI I am mainly using the Bell 407 so I can ignore the need for an airport / airfield. Not so important in the US, but it’ll make later parts of my journey less taxing as I can just plop down wherever I like. Fits better into my current schedule.

Today I chose to just continue crossing Long Island until I reached New York. And although it is the only city in the entire sim that causes some lag on my PC it is definitely a sight to see!

Had to shorten the flight as today is a busy day for me, but it was quite a nice experience! Gorgeous landscape with a slight haze in the distance, accompanied by music from a local jazz station. Great start into the day!

It’s crazy how I flew more than 1,300h in four years while seeing everything 75% worse than ordinary folks. Now, with my glasses, it feels like the sim had the biggest graphics upgrade I ever experienced! Today it was another wonderful morning flight with great music and beautiful sights. As I am flying with a minimized LNM it’s also always a nice surprise to see where I ended up after each flight.

Passing Warminster Community Park (which seems to be a former airfield with its runway turned into a parking lot? Clever!)
